After you remove that long plastic piece that is held by clips, There are 2 more plastic pieces that can be removed. They are right below the air box and are each held by like 2 clips. After removing those you have plenty of space to twist that bolt out with a small crescent wrench.
My xephyr intake came with a small J-shaped metal piece with a screw that was on the bottom of the box. Does anyone know what to do what that? Also the xephyr filter is now kind of hanging and touching the splash guard. Is this the way its supposed to be?

LOL... well... I got it all one... 3 hours later.
I didnt put back in those plastic pieces that were ahead of the airbox... not really sure where they go back in... too tired to feel round.
I also didnt put the wheel well trim back on.
Interestingly there was a dead baby bird laying on top of that wheel well plastic. Dunno how the fuck it got there... but it was fun catching its disease while i wrestled with those plastic clips. They were a bitch to get off cuz of the slack when you pull.
lol... Im glad im not.
Shawn: What is the purpose of the clamp you have abovve that rubber pice from the resonator? The one with the J hook.
Also... how do you keep the rubber resonator piece from sliding around... mine slides right up and down the tube so I really dont think it will stay in place while moving.
I have 2 extra clamps left over... wtf do I do with them... their not mentioned in the instructions.
hmm.

Soopa, those two clamps are exactly why you need em. To tighten the connection between the rubber tube and the CAI -- and where the CAI joins the bypass-valve.
As for the J-hook, that is to bolt it to the frame so that your CAI doesn't move around, else you'd hear alot of noise and vibration coming from your hood.

So thats what those 2 extra clamps are for.
Notice in Shawn S's picture one is connect around the VS throttle extension tube to tighten its connection with the CAI. The other one is around the middle of the induction tube which allows the j-hook to connect to the induction tube.
I kept the bottom of the air box with the rubber coupler in it with the cai going through it in the car. That helps keep the CAI in place and prevent from swinging around, also keeps the rubber coupler in place. But I don't know if I will be able to use the j-hook by doing this.
The problem now is I believe the air filter of the cai is hanging and touching the splash guard. I don't know if this should affect performance or not.

I don't see the "J-hook" in your pictures.
Is yours mounted like mine is?
