Freeze 12

I need to charge the A/C in my sentra, and I have the license to buy the R12. Problem is that R12 is getting up to about $50 a can and its getting really hard to find. Freeze 12 looks good but I kinda want to hear that someone has mixed R12 and Freeze 12 with no problems before I do it and risk killing my compressor.

Ahhh........IC

That doesn't work too well when its 90degree's outside, im wearing a suit to work, and sitting still in traffic. Of course when its that hot out I usually drive the CLS, but the sentra get much better gas mileage

I've been doing research on this topic lately b/c the a/c in my 92 accord stopped working. I have to replace the condenser and the drier and then recharge it. Like you I also got my certification to buy R-12. While looking for R-12 on ebay I can across freeze-12. I did some reading up and this is what I found out.

Freeze-12 is a blend of R-12 (20%) and R-134a (80%). Freeze will work fine with cars that came with R-12 a/c systems and is cheaper then R-12.
The Cons- Since Freeze-12 is a blend (R-12/ R-134a) your not going to find a shop that will service your system b/c their equipment isn't meant to handle blends. (only one or the other). Which means after u put in the freeze-12 your responsible for fixing the a/c if and when it breaks or leaks again.
Another con is if your system still has a leak and you put in freeze-12, one portion of the blend mixture will leak out first. Enorder to keep your compressor lubed the mixture has to be right. Therefore enorder to recharge a freeze-12 system u can't just top it off with more freeze-12 (the mixture in the system would get unblanced), you have to clear out the entire system and then put in a new charge.

I'm going to pay the extra $ and go with R-12.

I hope this helps
