Fog light questions--are we all wusses?

I was just replying to the question on road lamps when the following question came to mind: why hasn't any of the industrious members here done a fog light job on the CLS?

Is it because it's not really as important as we though initially to have them? I remember one guy did a makeshift job at some college way back when, but I can't imagine that it would be too tough to do the job.

1. Coat plastic with some heat resistant material. I'm not even sure if this is necessary--how hot do the backs of foglights get?
2. Upgrade wiring.
3. install foglights without stock plastic cover over them.

Maybe they're not as imporant as we thought?

i tried real fog light bulbs in the stock housing...there's no way they can stand the heat.

i tried installing projector lamps, they worked good, but there was too much "black" along the bottom...if the two verticle things to the inside of the road lamps were painted, then it wouldn't look too bad with real fogs.

as for the stock wiring, it doesn't have to be replaced (it can take the wattage) or modified (except to fit the fogs wiring) unless you want to put in a switch.

in the end, i don't have enough time to really get into it as i'm usually away form my car, and when im' not, i'd rather be driving it than figuring out what fogs to get and spending the time to install them.

so yeah, i guess i'm a wuss...the first thing i'd do is paint those two vertical things...but i'm too wussy to do it...and if i were to do it, i'd take it to a honda or acura dealer and have it painted with the exact color.
