Flashback. . . Acura-CL.com CL's from the past
I was rebuilding my PC and came across a bunch of pics from posts in the past. Sorry if I don't know who's is who. I only recognize Astro's. I think TypeSgirl is one, MCHBoosted another. . .

The photoshopped convertible isn't too bad, at least from that angle.
I would have thought (for some unknown reason) that a convertible form of our car would be fugly. The photo-conversion is just 'ehh': that's at least two steps above fugly.

why the hell would someone spend the money repainting a CL-S to be an ugly blue like that?? what was wrong with the factory color??? arent there enough CL-S color choices to satisfy anyone who wants one?? that paint job must have been a fortune, that money could have gone into a custom turbo setup or something...and if youve got the money to piss away on a silly paint job, how about get some decent rims???

whaa??? whats up with the aegean blue?? there are tons of 2001 aegean blue CL-S...did that color come out mid-year or something??? wow, i didnt know that, i didnt realize aegean blue wasnt available from the debut of the 2001 CL....hell, even the SEMA CL-S was aegean blue!! and that was in 1999 or 2000 right??

The CL first came out in March of 2000.
Aegean Blue came out in the fall of 2000. Aug/Sep if I remember correctly.
There was no official word from Acura, they just started showing up at the dealers before they even updated the website.

ya i did that photo chop of the drop top...way back when it pops up evry so often...so to does the guy whos car it is...we dont usually here from him except to say "hey that my car"...i think he's looking for royalties......mch5ondubbs was the first on the board with the 3.5 ...but mines lasted the longest

jim, the difference is paint quality.
mch had the butter blue paint. stock you get SHIT!!
but like shawn said blue wasnt factory option anyway.
and besides its not your money. i personally like it... and back in the day we ALL sweated it cuz nobody had blue cept him.
