First race, I lose to a Civic. But wait, it gets better..
Rolling out of a toll (Key Bridge), I hear a nice exhaust on the right. Civic hatchback. Yes folks, a Civic hatchback with a nice exhaust. We both gun it (I had to drop down to first). I lead him a little in first gear. He started to walk next to me in second. I shut down at the top of second and let him in front At the time we were about even. But, he was creeping by and there was slow traffic on the right. I wanted to keep going, but I lost/was losing and 100+ up a steep bridge in traffic is not cool. He eventually moved over and slowed down to bask in his glory. I just gave him a thumbs up a shook my head in disbelief (I figured he had forced induction or a swap). He takes the next exit. I saw a big “Euro Concepts” sticker in his rear window. So, I did a search and checked it out.
I lost to this Civic (bottom of the page):

With this engine:

Japanese spec Type-R in a 2300 pound car.
I feel much better now. I’m sure at a track, I would have lost much worse. Anyone know the numbers on a Japanese Type-R?

An ITR motor is the same here as in Japan..dumbasses like to say they have JDM stuff like it's that much better...(some is, but most is the same stuff sent here)...The reason the ITR makes like 210 in Japan is that fact that they run 100+ octane gas...and only the 30K emission rule affects them..(meaning after 30K, you swap the motor...so, no smog equipment is required).
He probably had more than just a Type-R motor...probably I/H/E and all the other bolt-ons..and, even then he was only barely catching up to you.....doesn't say too much about some drivers...

niiiice, must have been a crappy driver though!
btw, a 10 second civic's handling is sh*t, as well as those 600+ hp muscle cars...but it's always fun to beat others in a straight line
