Atleast the TPS wouldnt be a problem and map sensor holes are made like stock.

Let me know what you guys think
This is the way to go, by far the the most hassle free option for a larger throttle body. Im running the 74mm blox throttle body. Also they come 1mm bigger on the inlet side so if you get a 76mm it will have a 77mm opening but tapers to 76mm at the butterfly.

well i just ordered the 76mm. What kind of customization if any is needed to get this sucker running.

6mm is debatable (talking bolt on tb's- no customizing needed). Mine was $125 shipped. The 76mm blox was $250. I couldn't see spending double for 6mm. I'll upgrade down the road if I really feel the need

OP- I think you made the right move. As I said earlier, IMO not worth the hassle for an 80mm, but to each their own

I just got mine in yesterday... there is no customization needed except for the IACV...you will need to take it off make a custom plate and bracket it somewhere for it.

its done, Im just running it without the IACV working... it has to be plugged in or it will run in limp mode...but you can just plug it in, it will run fine but the car idles way too high. Personally i miss my CL so much i dont mind it right now...Ill make a block off plate this weekend.

I can try to take some pics later and post

EDIT: I REALLY wish I would have known the b series was a direct bolt on to the j series IM. I would have saved a lot of time.

alright ill do a write up on how i did my IAC once i figure out which route im going to go with it.

Yes i did port&polish the IM and removed the butterflies and added p2r gaskets
as far as how the car feels..

Throttle response defiantly improved

Power seems to vastly improve above 3.5k (not sure exactly bc I haven't dynod and don't plan on it until i find a good piggyback or something nice to tune w that wont be overridden by the ecu)

Ill try to get pics up soon but kinda have a busy weekend

Okay so I made a thin block off valve out of a piece of aluminum and it defiantly fixed the idle problem but with JUST A BLOCK OFF and no vacuum hoses connected VTEC no longer engages... not sure why this is and not sure if people even realize this because I've done some reading on the block off valve and no one (that ive seen) makes mention of VTEC no longer working. Well It doesn't.

For future reference i want people to know you have to make more than just a block off plate for the IACV

Check your oil level.

I had my IACV blocked off for about a year, VTEC always worked.

ahh Thanks Civic, I didnt even think about that, the cars never burned oil but now that you mention it, I did think it smelled a bit like that yesterday. I'll get back to you guys asap and let you know the verdict.

nope oil level was fine. the car wont rev past 5.5 or 6k it cuts out. Im thinking the car may have been running rich while i was trying to get it working properly and clogged the primary 02 sensor... what else would cause the car to cut out at 5-6k

Any codes? Check your tps, I think it may have gone out of spec and you need to recalibrate it to .5v with the throttle closed. I had this problem just earlier this week with the car cutting out at that rpm, but it threw a code. You may need to notch the tps holes to get it to the desired voltage

Maybe too much play in the throttle linkage?

Is this 76mm TB a direct bolt on without ANY problems or modifications with the IACV, TPS, Map Sensor, etc?

I've been out of the game for some years and it seems I've missed out on a lot of new info I'm coming across all the j-series sites.

its all direct bolt on, except the IACV it doesnt have a mount for it, but its really easy to just take it off your stock tb and make a block off plate for it.

I just used a thin piece of aluminum and bolted it down with some liquid gasket. Car runs fine. its a 100 degrees out and the car still pulls hard! Cant wait for it to cool off here in Dallas/ft worth area.

More air = more fuel

Romo doesnt have the balls to pick apart that defense. But it doesnt matter. Its only the first week. Even if they go 6-0, surely they'll choke by Thanksgiving
