Ferrari Enzo: Proof of how fast it accelerates and stops
t's official... Ferrari's awesome Enzo can sprint from 0-60mph in only three-and-a-half seconds. How can we be so sure? Because we were there to watch it being done.
The trial - the first time that the car has been allowed to be figured independently - took place at Ferrari's Fiorano track in Maranello, with legendary in-house test driver Dario Benuzzi behind the wheel. After several laps to get the Enzo warmed up, and with final checks made to the timing gear, he floored the car along the straight and got it to race from 0-100kph (0-62mph) in a lightning quick 3.51 seconds.
But Benuzzi didn't stop there - he managed to push the supercar up to 200kmh (124mph) in only 9.48 seconds, before having to brake sharply because he ran out of track. Then came the equally important braking test, which saw the Enzo brought to a standstill from 60mph with minimum fuss in 36.5 metres (119.75 feet).
Meanwhile, Ferrari insiders let slip a few details about the forthcoming 456 replacement. Auto Express was told the new car will make its world debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January, and will feature the F1-style sequential box found in the Enzo and the new 575M. Our source even suggested that, as 85 per cent of 575M buyers opt for the sequential unit, there could be a time when Ferrari only offers this gearbox.

Damn that’s about as fast as a CL-S with the Supercharger. That’s one fine piece of machinery!

I am guessing 1/4 mile time of around 11.2 seconds.
The F40 had an average of 3.8 seconds and 11.8 for the 0-60 and 1/4 mile.
Also:
1995 Ferrari 333 SP 3.6 11.3

Is 0-60 around 3.5 really considered that fast??
I remember reading about STOCK porsche 911 turbo doing that about 7-9 yrs ago. And that at 1/3 the price of this ferrari. And so did that midseat mclaren for $1 mill.
Guess i'm the only one who thinks thar ugly ferrari is overpriced and overrated

0-60 doesn't mean shit in racing! This thing handles like nothing else. There have been reports that this thing pulls over 1.3 g's!! on the skidpad. Quarter-mile is probably in the high 10's with like a 140 trap speed. Because of its gearing, there is massive acceleration in every gear.
