Fender Bender
I was backing out of my driveway and my radar fell off the windshield. I bent down to pick it up, but like the dumbass I am I didnt stop when I bent down to pick it up and BOOM I backed up into my brothers car. There wasnt too much damage done to my car, from what I could tell it was just the rear bumper and a couple clips holding the bumper. My brothers car wasnt as lucky, his front bumper, driver side headlight and drivers side quarter panel/fender are all damaged and need to be replaced. I dont need to go through insurance cuz I can get a new bumper and have it painted for $375, but my brothers car is wut were worried about. Im not sure how much it would cost to repair it privately, not going through insurance. A new painted bumper is like $450 and a headlight is about $200 but I have no clue how much its gonna cost for the quarter panel/fender.
So im not really sure what to do about his car
Any ideas?

OK, did a little bit of shopping around and found a front bumper and front fender both brand new for $500. It will probably cost around $400 to get them painted. I can install the bumper myself but im not sure about the fender, I think once the bumper is off I can get the fender off and put the new one in. Im pretty mechanically inclined so I think Im gonna try to take a whack at it and do all the work myself, what do you guys think??? I've never really done any body work before, but i dont think remove and install should be hard. Its not like im trying to fix the hit fender.
Opinions? Oh yea its $500 for one headlamp! Im gonna try and get the headlamp off ebay
And I finally saved up enough money to buy a set of Ksports and a UR Pulley, but now its all gone

That really sucks. Is the price for those parts painted?
And how fast were you going?

definitely go through insurance.
ur gonna spend over a grand just so that your insurance wont go up a couple hundred buck for the year? if this is your first time, then it shouldn't even go up.
I get customers all the time who come up and pay out of pocket and say they dont wanna go through their insurance because they think it "might" go up. thats what insurance is for.
its not as bad as people think, infact its not bad at all. only if get them involved 3 or more time in a short period of time, then u become a big liability for them.
GO THROUGH YOUR INSURANCE. Its not worth paying for something this big out of pocket, unless your deductible is already 1000.

The thing is that my brother already has 2 accidents on his insurance and im under my parents insurance which has an accident on it already. So if we do go through insurance its gonna raise the insurance of 3 cars under my parents name and my brothers insurance. I was looking at his car today and removing the fender looks pretty straight forward, it would cost me $500 to buy a new bumper and fender, another $600 to get them painted and free if I install them. His headlight isnt broken its just scratched up so im gonna see if I can wet sand the scratches out before I go and spend the money on a new headlight.
