Someone mentioned that they -- Alpine/Acura -- were going to come out with yet another update in Feb 2001.

If you go to the acura or alpine site I think it mentions that they come out w/ an update every fall. i might be wrong tho

This is how that rumor got started... I doubt its true though:

The map data on the DVD for the Acura navigation system comes from a company called NavTech...

Several months ago... NavTech announced that they would have full coverage for the continental US by Spring 2001.

So... what that means is... Acura/Alpine should receive an updated database this spring...

However, Acura still has to remove some data from the records... such as competing dealerships etc etc... so... most likely... you wont see that update until Fall 01... like normal.

Also... note this... the actual DVD version that acura sells... doesnt neccesarily reflect which version of the database you have...

The database is always a different version such as ADB0016 or something... and its possible that they may use an updated database with each printing of the DVD... meaning...

Navi version 2.03 could have a handful of different database versions.

Either way... it is most likely that you wont see another Navi update until September/October.

i read that will be issued only once a year, in the fall every year, cost for this product about $150 and contact your dealer if your area will be updated, they received a list of areas that were affected by the update

What is it exactly that they remove, because i could have sworn i put in Audi and it showed me a dealers.

Yes it should show you were all dealerships are located but not specifically with a special "Acura dealership" or the "Acura" logo on the display screen (instead of a dot).
