Which features to avoid on next car?
After owing my CL-S six speed I will try to avoid the following on
my next car...
1. A horrible turning radius
2. Front Wheel Drive
3. Windshield wipers that cannot be hinged to clean the front
glass.
What is on your list?

Outnumbered at home
Agree on the turning radius (have heard the TL is even worse)
No more auto trannies, back to manuals
Can;t imagine not having a car with Nav anymore
make sure rims do not extend beyond tires (damn i have a lot of little scratches on them)
Make sure sunroof actually opens up farther than 3 inches

I haven't noticed the turning radius being that bad, but I agree with the rest.
Things to avoid:
1) Cars made in Marysville OH
2) FWD (this is my first and probably last FWD - one word - wheelhop)
3) the wipers (that gets to me too)
4) Cars that don't have a windsheild wiper fluid level indicator (the CL in Canada has 'em).
5) Cars marketed to the wrong target demographic leading to the discontinuation of the model and shitty resale value. Nice job Mr. Marketing.
6) New Cars (period). I got screwed w/ depreciation on this car, so I won't make the mistake of buying a new sports/lux coupe new again. I'll let someone else take the $$ hit next time.
I love my CLS still, but I've come to acknowledge its faults. Since the CLS isn't worth much as a trade in, I feel like I have to keep it for longer then I first thought I would to get my $$ out of it. It's paid for and I'm just gonna drive it and enjoy it. 200K miles, here I come. It'll make a good winter beater someday

Where is my super sauce?
For a car of this size, I think the turning radius is fine. Keep in mind that the CL is a long car.
I like FWD and I think it has its application. These threads have beat this issue down. For a car that is not destined to be on a track, FWD is fine. This is my daily driver and I use it in foul weather. I think the FWD is an asset and not a deficit.
The windshield wiper thing is a bit annoying, but I think quite minor. Every car has some minor issue, I cannot see that focusing on this on makes sense. But, to each their own...
With all the issues raised from the US Acuras, I'd be hesitant to buy a Japanese car not made in Japan. The USA quality of the CL/TL has really been a sore spot.
Oh, I my CL-S!

CLS 6MT Navi
I can think of very few things I don't like on the CL. On most major points i have no issues.
Styling is about the main thing.
A little big and long, but I like the interior room, back seat and trunk room. Could be a little shorter and lighter.
Better brakes
Rattle control, not a real problem on mine, but what will the future bring?
More color choices, inside and out,
Acura has already changed this for interiors.
Ok, real fogs! or nothing at all (03), LED lights in dash and tails, more accessories, better stock rims, nothing major really.
What's up with the wipers, I haven't noticed anything, but I haven't seen much rain. Oh, you mean the passenger wiper doesn't fold back, well it would be easier to clean, and I always hit the hood trying to lift it up.

For those of you who accept the turning radius, consider this.
I used to own a 1991 Acura Legend Coupe. The wheelbase was
5 inches longer and the turning circle was 34 feet instead of 40 feet. This fwd car had the engine/tranny mounted longitudinally
which allowed the wheels to turn further.
If you've not driven a car with a sensible turning radius, you may not know what you're missing. It makes maneuverability in parking and tight situations so much easier.

Frankly, if you don't like the turing radius, you should not have bought the car. One of the things I always check on test drives is the turning radius. It's a spec that's quite easy to verify and evaluate. If its not up to your snuff, then get another car. Why buy a car that bugs you every time you turn the wheel?
[rant]These 'let's all bitch about the CL threads' got really old years ago. Yes, the car ain't perfect, but its just a car. Sell it if it bugs you. [/rant]
I still don't think the CLs turning radius is all that bad (for a car of its size). And yes, I've driven plenty of small cars with nice tight turning circles.

If you understood the thread, you would know it's not a bitch session. It's just a compilation of items that we wished were
different.
If you don 't like hearing negative commentary, where on this planet can you go?
Reality includes the positives and the negatives, it's just the way
it is.

1. most disturbing feature is the lack of vision at the front A-pillars combined with the location of the side mirrors creating an enormous blind spot for perpendicular approaching traffic and pedestrians in cross-walks.
(as compared to last two vehicles , '90' and '95' legends)
2. sunroof that opens completely and wind deflector that does'nt vibrate when open, rattle when shut.
3. ditto on the alloy wheel design

That's harsh, don't blame the US workers, blame the corporate heads in their million $ offices, sending down orders to build their cruddy cars, to an environment they run and control. Blame the buyers who don't demand better too.
Luckily I can afford to buy a better car. I assume most buyers of domestics are pretty happy with their cars cause GMFordChrysler sell lots of cars and it keeps our economy going.
and I just got Navi, it's cool but it ain't all that, no way i would have paid retail ($2000) for it!!! I let someone else pay for it new.

Thanks :captobvious:
We all know that, but if I want to clean the snow off my car's windsheild, I can't put the wipers on (they're covered in snow), to get then in the "midway" position. It would be nice to just be able to flip 'em up, anytime without powering up the wipers (like most other cars).
We want 'em to hinge in the normal off position.

Although my TLS is a great family sedan, enough room and good daily driver and I love it.It is true about the horrible turning radius.I think a Boeing 747 can do better. With respects to all other member who may disagree, I will avoid/research the following on my next vehicle.
1. No FWD
2. research more thoroughly,Japanese vehicles built in United States before purchase.
3. No more cars with no or absence of low end torque. Torque should be prefably match or come close to HP and not below.
4. Brakes from factory should be strong from the get go.
5. Leather seats with full leather all the way around, instead of partial.
