I got mine installed at Alert Security & Autosound in DC 202-526-9300. If you go there request MIke for the install. I've had my alarm now for a little over a week and it works great. Only thing you have to do is adjust the dual stage field sensor for the trigger and the warning to the way you want it. He'll show you how to do it, it's easy. There is one other place in VA that does it called Car trends, but they said I couldn't get an appointment for 3 weeks for the install! Screw that. So i went with this place in DC.

Nighthawk, does the Compustar have a proximity sensor? I was looking at the features on their website, but I don't think it mentioned having a proximity sensor.

You can add one. That's why it's 700 instead of 600. It's a Dual stage sensor. one for the trigger the other for the warning. It works pretty good but it's not included in the basic system. I would suggest having them install it at the time of the basic alarm. I think the only other thing you can add on is an auto up window module.

All the talk about upgrading the alarm is cool but isn't that what full coverage auto insurance is for assuming that you are with a good insurance company. If a pro really wants to steal your car, they will find a way if they are really good.

Yeah but insurance companies usually don't give you what your car is really worth. Your right about a pro getting your car if he wants to but why make it easy for him... and who knows, maybe he'll go for a CL with a stock alarm. Since he can get into the car without setting it off.

Nighthawk, so how is the compustar alarm so far? I talked to a shop that installed my girlfriend's clifford avantguard about compustar alarms, and he said they were unreliable, but I wanna know first hand from a compustar owner. Thanks

Aegean Cl, I belive that the alarm system or any alarm system isas good as the guy who installs it. If he has the skills and a good work ethic then malfuctions should be minimal. The guy who installed mine, did it by the book. As far as my experience goes, I haven't had any problems thus far. It starts everytime and there have been no false alarms after I adjusted the radar sensors. Works just like it supposed to.
