Exhaust /Weld Question

A friend of mine is building his car and were fitting the exhaust.

Neither of us has a welder and a shop is a few hundred dollars. If we used a coupler (from like auto zone) and flux solder it than clamped it would that work.

No, I don't think that's a great idea. The exhaust gets REALLY hot.

Solder would melt instantly.

Thats why i'm thinking silver solder. You need an acetylene torch to melt the stuff.

sorry op but that's one of the cheapest things i've heard to date on this forum in my 3 years of being on here.

if u hate welding then buy the clamp brackets and use piping that slips into one-another. they make exhaust systems like this sometimes and there usually are no leaks, i've installed one on a 350z and there was no problem. but just beware with stuff like that leaks develop over time, and corrosion is much easier to form in crucial areas that may compromise the system in years to come. which is why they weld everything, so it lasts through the bumps and bruises of everyday use

If you have an acetylene torch, you could braze it.
