Engine Build-Up
I have been working on all the match involved with an engine-rebuild and it appears the following is possible:
3.7L motor capable of holding about 800hp
Ross Pistons
Pauter Rods
Forged crank
New Sleeves with a closed-deck configuration
I am looking into pricing and assembly costs etc.
What do ya'll think of a 3.7L turbo

with 800hp you are gonna need serious drivetrain modifications to put it to the ground.
I mean you already have serious issues with 500hp...
It's gonna be cool though.

I won't convert it to an auto! Plus, I won't use slicks either.... so on stock tires even 800hp is fine to drive around.
Most likely it will be about 600hp on pump gas and upto 800-1000hp on race-gas. I think my turbo will crap out at around 700'ish hp.
It's all just an idea... I'll have to wait and see on feasibility, but I think it can be done.
TypeR... get ready to ship that block out!

DO you plan on putting in a roll cage? I'm pretty sure the times you'd be able to pull, most tracks would kick you out without one, assuming you can put down all that power.
PLus I wouldn't trust me not to kill myself with all that power.

800-1000 maybe a little wishful thinking, but who knows till the product is done. the head gaskets will have a little problem with that much boost to acheive that much hp, although it can be done once or twice. I'm looking for around 600-650 crank hp when i'm finished, my turbo and IC is good to 700.
anyone on this board have an extra pair of valve covers laying around for the j series? pm me if so.

Yes on monsterous slicks, with a chasis that weighs about 1500lbs with the driver. Not the case with a CL-S.

someone is going to say slicks. But they have obvisoly never driven a car /w cheater or real slicks. you go no-where when it's wet. And you pickup every rock ont he road and throw it at your wheel well... Slicks on a CLS=ghetto anyway... (with the wheels sticking out of the wheel wells)
Props to the 800hp...
someone make a CRV-4 mod to convert these high HP cars to 4wd...
Allmotor, turing a near luxury car into a 7 second beast would make it a POS. Might as well use a different car.
