Exclamation engaged clutch and nothing...need some bay area help

at 150,000 I think its toast. I drove it to the store and it drove like normal but when I came back to it I couldnt get it do anything but rev. I cant think of anything but clutch. Anyone know anything else or any test that can be done to confirm? Also, I just moved to Santa Cruz and dont have a mechanic out here yet, I know theres a huge AZine presence in the bay, who knows a good mechanic in bay area (preferably as close as possible to santa cruz)?

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANY HELP

You check the linkage? It could be as simple as it not engaging, I had that happen on my old Integra once.

Clutch fluid? When I had my 5th gen Prelude (which also had about 150K on it at the time, I drove to work one day no issues but when I went to leave I had issues getting the car in gear. I would push the clutch in but there was still resistance when trying to put the car in gear. Turns out a had a very minor leak in the clutch master cylinder and I didn't have enough fluid to make the system work. Had to bleed it and refill, took care of the issue.

It seemed odd to me too. Is that something I can slide under the car and see? I've never broke an axle before so I dont know what to look for. Is that more or less expensive than a clutch?

A good clutch test is to put in gear then release the clutch. If it lunches & stalls, the clutch should be ok.
Get a friend or 2 & try pushing the car & see if you hear any noises, like grinding, clicking or popping.

Turned out to be an axel. It rusted all the way through. Mechanic said in his 35 years he'd never seen such a thing on a newish car. Anyway, all fixed. Thanks to those who spoke up!

I thought 6mt's have a LSD. Wouldn't the car still move by turning the other axle?

Youre not the first to snap an axle at that exact spot.

Because of the dampener, water and dirt gets underneath it and keeps eating away at it. If your new axles have the dampeners as well, run a bead of silicone around the seams and let the silicone dry for about 24hrs before you drive on it.

Silicone...good idea but its already done and driven. Any point in applying it now?
