yeah there is some electric vehicle that went 340+ MPH!
I don't know if electrics will ever break the sound barrier but they are quick!

it is a Alternating Current Propulsion system. Check out the website. It has all kinds of specs data and charts.

One drawback, batteries. Need better power supplies, but the potential is very promissing. Oh yeah that video is amazing, never thought an electric car could take a Porsche!
