Dynamat????

Has anyone on here used dynamat or any other sound deadening (sp?) material in the trunk or any other place?

Is it really worth the money?

My buddy uses it in his Supra, and it works pretty damn well. Downside is the weight...shit's heavy as hell, and doesn't help at the track. But, if you're not into racing at the track, it's not really an issue.

It works if you put it in the right place(s) and use as minimal amount as possible.

Used Cascade on my car. Great stuff, no smell. All 4 doors, trunk lid, rear deck lid, trunk...

Works great.

Check THIS thread for pics.

I used some stuff called "Fatmat". I got it off Ebay for $100 for 100 sq feet. It smelled a little bit for about a week, but nothing offensive. It has killed a ton of exhaust and tire drne, and I don't hear my squeaky bushings anymore. It is moderately heavy, but not extremeley so. I did my entire car from firewall to trunk lid, and I didn't use the entire 100 sq ft. I would say in total it weighs about 50-60 lbs. I only did one layer in most places, and it did take awhile to do. I did it over a 10 hour period, which includes stripping the interior out and cleaning all the areas which were going to be done. I personally would say Dynamat is not worth the extra money over the other sound deadener companies. As long as you use a hair dryer to make it stay, it will never peel off by itself. Here's a couple pics of mine:

Can any one provide good description on how to take apart the inside of the car to get to the metal sound prove it. Where to take the carpet off and stuff like that. Trunk is easy, back sits are easy, but the other places, i am afraid to start messing with on my own.

nah the system is just loud that the whole car rattles. The roof shakes, the doors vibrate...on certain songs i've gotten the front bumper to shake. Dynamat stopped my license plate from rattling cuz i put it behind it...that was about it.
