Driving impressions after upgrades this weekend
Driving impressions after upgrades this weekend
well, i gave my baby all weekend to show me what she's made of after i got springs, sways, new tires, and ss-brake lines!!!
impressions:
wow!! i can't honestly give u a review on each mod b/c i had all of them done at once, but what i can tell u is
1, the brakes feel great...stopping power is incredible...i had my rotors cut for the second time 2K miles ago and also got the upgraded front pads, so the lines were the trifecta in the brakes dep't...and it also gives me piece of mind to know that in any emergency situation, i feel more confident in my brakes
2, the sways make me so nimble when i weave back and forth...no boat feel whatsoever...also peace of mind that in an emergency, i can maintain control of the car if i need to do dodge maneuvers, like avoiding deer that jump out at me!!
3, springs look and feel great...no for and aft issues...no real nose-dive under harder braking...bumps in the road are more noticeable, however u get used to them fairly quickly...the car looks much better now that i can see the before and after pics
4, the tires seem to standout more among all other mods i had done...reason i say this is b/c the other mods don't do much for car if u don't have good tires on them...stock Michelins are OK, but that's all they are...OK...these Pilot Sport A/S's are clearly better in all areas...cornering is a dream...i admit i have become more aggressive in the car b/c of these mods...tire grip is great...i haven't done a WOT from standstill yet, but i plan on going to Englishtown this Friday night and trying it out...im getting the wet weather test today...finally, the road noise issue: simply put, there is none...now maybe it's just b/c they're new, maybe not...all i can tell u is that they're more quiet than the Proxes, and there's no vibration from the treads like the Proxes that enters the cabin on your feet...plus it's an all-season for those "just-in-case" times during the winter here in the Northeast.
so to sum it all up, im glad i had all these mods done to my baby (long overdue now that i look back on it
)...i would highly recommend everyone check out these mods if u're looking to invest in some...i think if nothing else, get new tires, b/c cornering/handling begins with the tires.
