Don't you love it.....

When someone who is driving a beater, doing some 85 in 55 zone, blocking the fast lane, and you decide to pass him at 100 MPH by just a flick of a wrist... I never had to mash the pedal to the metal just flicker it from 5 ro 3, RPM jumps to 3-4k and here we go... Bye Bye

I like the feel better when it's some jackass on a cellphone in a Ford Expedition thinking he/she owns the lane ... only thing is you gotta look out for that sudden lane change.

Sounds to me like this is routine driving for you guys. We all drive fast, so do I. But I figure my luck is going to run out one day. Either a horrendous crash (because of somebody's mistake) or a killer speeding ticket. Today I just limit high speed driving (90 and above) to when I'm in a terribly, terribly big hurry or street racing [rare]. In any case, safety is always paramount.

I've always thought about this, think about this hypothetically:

You're doing 95 mph on a two-lane freeway down the #1 lane. A pickup is doing 55mph in the #2 lane about 1/4 mile ahead. For whatever reason, the pickup decides to change lanes to pass an SUV at least 1/4 mile ahead of it. Because you are traveling at a high rate of speed either the pickup didn't see you or failed to accurately judge your speed and cut in front of you. Seeing you approach at a high rate speed, to avoid a collision, the pickup cuts back into the #2 lane quickly, losing control, hits the shoulder, goes off the road, crashing. What happens next? Do you stop? Is it your fault?
Did somebody get your license plate?

Ken,

You are right doing an average 90+mph for 300 miles as one mentioned on this board is extreemly irresponsible and pretty dump and stupid.

If you noticed in my last post I mentioned "passing" not crusing at 100mph. Usually, I limit myself to 70-80 on 55, 85 on a 65. Many times I got tail gated my some 4-bangers, worse I got blinded by headlight some crap SUVs, and promptly yielded the left lane. The idea in my last post is that CL-S is really a fast car, stock!...impressive as is...
