Front plate req'd: Cops are Ana! about this. You will get a ticket

Helmet req'd: You will get a ticket w/o a helmet from EVERY cop that see's you

Tint 50% sides 35% rear: Cop's not too bad about this -- Limo all around may get pulled, 35% sides 10% rear = highly unlikely to get pulled. Although Metallic and Reflective "Glitter" or "Rainbow" tint is asking for a ticket.

These are the Va laws, and how the cops are in my area. This may be different in NOVA.

Any NOVA guys out there to comment?

Mine "fell off and I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet" CA law says it's gotta be on, but until it causes me trouble it's staying in the trunk.

 

Unfortunately in Cali its supposed to be on...but as you know, since when you have you seen a suped up car abide by the rules. so people don't really take it serious. Unless they go to a nit-picky area where freakin bacon breath dounut munchin pigs love to give fix-it tickets

I forgot to mention...its also required for helmets to be on at all times when "operating" a motorcycle

personally, i think the front plate thing is a joke. my moms tt looked so rediculous w. a liscense plate on the front. I asked the cop that pulled me over for no front plate, he pretty much told me its because the traffic control devices (red light cameras and speed camera's) sometimes take pictures from the front, no plate, no ticket. yah... thats some incentive to put it back on!

i got a ticket for no front plate and 35% just this tuesday.

 

I would suggest getting a front plate if you are required by law. It gives the cops an excuse to pull you over and then tack on more tickets if needed. I got pulled over (no front plate), then asks me about my tint. I just told him that I just got it from Florida two weeks ago and was going to get it changed. He said if he saw me with no plate/tint a week later he was going to give me tickets. It as been 5 months and haven't seen him since. Focking Pigs!!!
