Does it take extra long to crank the car

Well I had this problem like the first 2 months I had the car but thought it was just my fault.

Usually when i start my car it takes like 1.5~2 seconds to start the car. Like I have to crank it extra long. one of my friends just got a 90 used accord and when he started the car it cranked with in .5 seconds and started. Also my previous cars (maxima) didn't have this problem. Started w/in .5 seconds.

I also read something in the NHST or what ever its called post a service bulliten about this.

Am i the only one?

i somtimes have this problem, too. i've been meaning to take it to pohanka but i no longer trust those svc techs. they seem to fix one problem then create another. but to answer your question, yes...i do have that same problem with the acura. my civic starts immediately...no hesitation at all!

Thats it, Im going to the dealer this weekend to bitch about:
1. Crank not working properly
2. Round Gray Spots in my paint *taking extra pair of sunglasses*
3. Paint under my headlight coming off . Literally falling off.
4. Retorque my headers.
5. Mysterious glowing VSA light.
anything else I should ask

Here is Wayne's response on this back in April....... It never happened to me again so I did not bring it to him. I'll have Jens check next week when I have the headers re-torqued....

waynegCrazy Poster Posts: 116From: Maywood, NJRegistered: Feb 2001 posted 04-18-2001 04:28 PM The bulletin Jens is refering to (B01-001) addresses intermitent hard start after hot soak. The cure for that is to replace the fuel pressure regulator. The cold start, long crank is an issue we see most in fall and spring. It too is fuel related. The gas companies switch from Winter to Summer blends at those times and the change in vapor pressure from the fuel can cause wierd starting problems- particularly if you still have winter gas and the temp gets warm or summer gas and the temp gets cold. Not much you can do about this. The other issue is that you may be getting a slight loss of pressure in the fuel system after the car sits overnight. When you turn the key, the fuel pump is activated and pressurizes the system. It take a second or so to build pressure back up- thus the extra cranks. The best cure for this is to turn the key to on for a second or two then to crank. This gives the pump time to work and you should have a shorter crank. These really aren't problems and they do exist in most fuel injected cars.------------------Wayne GruenService ManagerPark Ave Acura

you know what nova.....the freakin paint under my driver head lamp is coming off too. had to do some minor touch up paint. i used to put on a full nose mask but now amm kinda hesitant to put the bottom part on cuz of the paint peeling off again. like i said earlier, i'm not sure if i'm willing to take it back to pohanka....but where else can i go, right. i live right by fair oaks mall. anyway, the last time i took my car there to have my trunk cover repainted because of some rust on the water wells....well, guess what, when i got my car back, my trunk, specially where the spare tire sits, was flooded with water. also, all my tools were rusted. apparently, when they removed the cover of the trunk, it just so happened to rain but they didn't bother putting any plastic to cover the inside of my trunk.

yup, the paint started peeling on the somewhat perforated part right under the lamp where the mask tabs are inserted in. if you want some company, i'd be glad to go with you to pohanka and give some extra bitching....but i'm no natural bitcher. just curious as to what they might say! but can't do it this saturday! might go to AC with my girlfriend to spend some money. i'd also be glad to let you drive the cl-p (not to AC)!
