My new rims weigh about 26.5 lbs and I was wondering if they were lighter because my car seems to peel out easier now.

Digital bathroom scales have a nice read out, but can be off by a few pounds, depending on the design (especially at lower weights -- I know because I had one, and when I compared some items weights to a Doctor' balance beam scale, the weight was off by a few pounds. (My dad, who has passed away was a MD. He was the one who laughed about some of the home digital scales [long story]...)
The only scales that are very accurate are balance beam scales (Like in the Dr's office).
In a balance beam scale the weight of the reference mass and the item to be weighed are subjected (pulled down) by the same gravitational force. So these scales are generally accurate to 1/4lb or better (depending).
The reason I ask is:
There seem to be people who have weighed the "wheels" now and have gotten from 24lbs, 25lbs, and now 26.5lbs.
It would be nice to get a qualification on how the wheel was weighed
(just a thought or three)
