I paid list for the car, but all the accessories except for the NAV were basically FREE.
I bought in June 2000 and they told me they were NOT dealing on the price of the car, but they WERE dealing on accessories.

So I took the retail of the car with NAV and added EVERY option I wanted (spoiler, wood kit, splashguards, roof visor, wheel locks, gold emblems & grill) and offered them ZERO for the add-ons.
If I remember correctly it was 30,500+tax.
They took the deal.

I currently only owe about 5,000 on the car and expect somewhere between 20-23 for a trade.
I will also try selling the car privately.

If the new one with a REAL transmission costs say 34,000 and I throw another 5,000 at it.
I will only need a loan for 12-13 thousand.

That works for me.

PS.....I’m also still throwing around the idea of a RAFFLE for my car as well.
(300) tickets at 100 a pop. Anyone interested ???

yah.i drive manual car most of the time too.and i like ss mode auto trans..it really gives u the feeling of driving manual car.but not 100% alike.but at least u can shift gear according to the engine speed ..and when u encounter the heavy traffic jam.u just switch it full auto.. but recently i am thinking about want to buy a manual sports car.....still miss the feeling of step on the clutch... i will want to buy a rwd sports car next time

The SS tranny is one of the many reasons why I bought my CL-S. I like being able to have some control over the gears at times and then being able to throw it into auto whenever I feel like it. I do wish the system was quicker and more responsive like others say, but I wouldn't have gotten a manual. I knew I had to buy an automatic car b/c most of my driving is done in traffic and I didn't want to be on that mission.

I can't wait to test out the downgraded version of the SMG being put in the 330Ci; that seems really sweet, the best of both worlds. Maybe that'll be my next car. Or if I get a nice enough raise I'll get the real deal, an SMGII M3.
