Do people underestimate your CL?
a lot times when I meet new people and they ask what I drive, I proudly say an Acura CL and that they probably have seen me driving around. I then get the engine question.. "is that the 2.2 or the 2.3?"
Kinda degrading if you ask me..
Kinda degrading if you ask me..

I now drive an accord....
From the day I bought my car almost 5 years ago till now, no one even knows what I drive when I say an Acura CL. Call me strange but I like it that way. It means I don't have to see a clone of my car around every corner.

You'd figure they'd at least get the Acura part right.

Trust me, I get underestimated all the time. A '04 M3 once tried to embarrass me from a role at about 35mph. I won’t do the M3/CL argument, but for whatever the reason, I barely pulled on him up to 80. Mostly door to door with me inching ahead. I was doing the butt scoot, must have been why! He wouldn’t even look at me after. Probably pissed I paid half. I am well aware the situation would have been different from a red light. Most people who have seen my car but don't know what it is refer to it as a Honda. Really though, how do you miss the huge ACURA letters across the trunk not to mention the emblems everywhere. I don't care. No one seems to know what the hell a CL is. Those who do dont know about the fury of the 6MT. I like it too. I rarely see them and mine doesn’t look stock anyway so it really throws people off. My favorite is blowing the doors off some old timer in a older bone stock 2G CLP. Didnt know your car could do that did ya?

Its very different depending on where you live. I've only seen 1 other CL and 2 TL's in the 8 months that I've lived here.
I get cut off, flicked off, people won't let me over...... all the time..... I do live in detroit...and work for GM...lol.. People in their pontiacs and lifted fords think its a civic and try to show off thier american pride by cutting me off with a polite wave of the finger....lol.. I hate seeing the same cars all the time... I need to de-badge my car asap...fucking haters

yeah people always think they can keep up.... my friend with an 04 audi a4 1.9t 5spd thinks he will keep up and keeps talking about if he gets a chip he will pull on me. Little does he know if he gets a chip he might be able to keep up with a stock cls

Alot of people I know don't realize how fast the CL-S really is and how nice it really is. I've have taken them for rides and by the end of the ride they are in shock at what the car can do and how nice it is. Its funny how small minded people are.

not to bust on the first gen 2.x's but when I get hit with 2.2 or 2.3, I think to myself "wow... What an ass.." they know its an Acura because I just told them. But come on.. Acura in 03 didn't use a 4 banger except the rsx... I mean come on... You have seen the car and its brothers (tl, cl, etc) but you still don't know its a 3.2?!
Oh and when I got my IMRC fixed, I beat an e46 m3 which I lost to a few weeks before. We both pulled into the local WaWa and chatted on what I did to make my car faster all of a sudden.. Then I love the guys in civics, eclipse's, rsx's, stock tl's/cl's, trucks, neon srt4's, etc. that race me and I blow past them right after I get my car in the high rpm's and vtec..
Buying the car (in my case): $14,000
Buying the premium gas: $40-45 a tank
Keeping it looking good: +-$20 a week
Insurance: $500
Radar detector (have yet to buy): $250
tires, oil, maintenance: $600
seeing the face of defeat on the guy/ricer who you just beat on the highway by bus lengths: priceless

People always think my car is an Honda Accord because i have debadged the 3.2CL and most of them are surprised to find the 3.2 V6 under the hood because they think it is just some 4 bangers with Acura tag.

Im jealous! Im weary on buying the C/F trunk, do to my system.......I have heard that the repeated pressure from the bass, will crack the C/F and/or clear coat on the trunk lid. Can anyone verify this "MYTH"?

I live in a place where the streets are flooded with G35, you cant go a block with out seeing 2. And at school there are at least 30-40 minimumm. Its funny because they all think there G-dirt is better then everyone elses and its cool to be the one to disturb the G-dirt peace

dont be mad
yea no one has any idea what i drive hahaha i have to explain it like "its basically a 3.2TL with 2 doors" then they're like "OHHHH"
ive seen about 4 CL's in the past 4 months, and 2 of them i see on a regular basis.
I dont get what the beef is with g35's and CL's, id hate having a car that EVERYONE has, it'd be like driving a civic or neon or something.

I like the G35's but honestly the more that I look at them I'm glad I have the CL. IF i were to get a G, the first thing off the car would be the bumpers, hood, trunk, fenders, grille, headlights, taillights, rims and suspension. Then in those spots would go very nice replacement parts.
To make it look like this:
Either this one:
Or
But I would need to be convinced into buying one first...

Just happened to my today with my cousin. However, it all changed five minutes later when I drove us 25 miles downtown on the freeway. He was holding on to the roof handles for his dear life.
