Do the OEM rear rotors warp like the front do?
In the Spring I am due for a rear brake change. I am pretty sure my front brake rotors are warped due to steering wheel vibrations when braking every so often. However, do the rear rotors warp like the fronts do? Or is the system designed to put brake pressure on the fronts 80% of the time, rears 20% of the time, so the rears are less *likely* to warp? Sorry for the potentially elementary question - I'm def not brake knowledgeable.
I don't really want to enter a discussion at this point on the benefits vs. cost of doing a complete brake system overhaul. I am considering this but just need specific info about the rear brakes.

All car's do almost all the braking with the front brakes. The back brakes are just there to keep the vehicle level while braking for the most part. The rears shouldn't have warping issues like the front.

I wonder how odd the car would look if I left OE rotors on the rear and just replaced the pads? Then did the front swap out with EBC Ultimax slotted rotors in the front?

For the most part the only person that'll notice stuff like that is you. Most people don't look at brakes and if they do, they usually only look at the front.

TO answer your question, no the rears dont have the problem like the fronts do BUT i have seen a few members with warped rears. This usually happens from a caliper that is frozen or hangs (which is somewhat common on these calipers with higher mileage)

What's the point in me getting EBC rotors if they're just going to potentially warp? I might as well save the cash and get R1's with the Legend Calipers and call it a day.

it's virtually unnoticeable. seriously.. the only way i am sure it is slighty warped is cause I jacked the car up spun the wheel and u could hear it get quieter and louder as i turned it due to the pad hitting the rotor.. slightly more.
for me I can live with it. no one notices it but me, if I said they were fine on my car and u got them you may not even notice, it's that miniscule... and it took me forever to notice.
I've done some hard braking... but w/e I'm not getting rid of them for something that miniscule.
These R1 rotors correct? those cost less than the ebc (at least here in canada)

I don't think it's the rotor company's fault, considering it's not a vented disk on the rear and the car is heavy. It's a stupid set up... one i may eventually change

One of the causes for rotor warpage is incorrectly torquing the lug nuts. Its 80ft-lbs, in a star pattern. Then retorque after 25 miles.

the ebcs shouldnt warp that fast especially the rears, i would suspect inproper install or something wrong with the calipers freezing up etc. I take my car up to red line almost everyday and drive aggresive and have never even warped my oem front rotors. I use engine braking alot and try not to slam on the brakes. I dont ride ppl's asses either so that might be part of it too.

lol see i shouldn't have even mentioned it... i said barely...
you cannot notice through driving.. the car doesn't wobble. or stop oddly. nothing...
it's just something I found out
granted i don't have a tq wrench but I do the start pattern and my fronts are beautiful.. so... w/e

another big cause of warping is puddles and deep water. the hot rotors are suddenly subjected to cold/cool water, causing them to instantly cool down some, making them warp. the fronts usually get the worst of it when that happens tho, so the rears shouldn't be as bad.

By an experienced shop, yes.

on my 98 LX-V6 Accord and my 02 CL type S the rear brakes had to be done first
on the accord the rears were replaced for the first time at 90K the fronts were never replaced and the car was sold at 100K. last inspection stated I could most likely go to 115K or so before they had to be done
CL type S front brakes were done at 81K miles for the first time and the rears were done at 55K
