If I sold my car private party while its still covered under the factory warranty, does the buyer get the rest of the warranty? I've never sold a car under warranty before. And I know that a lot consumer stuff is only warranted the original purchaser. (Companies love to weasle out of backing their products at the first chance they get.)

 

4 year/ 40,000 mile warranty transfers to new owner.

 

Damn. Its only 40,000? I'm almost to 30k and its not even 2 years old. I'll probably be near 40k by the time the 6 speed comes out.

 

When I sold by CL (for the TL-S) in July this year I had the 7 year 75k warranty on it. I sold the car with around 62k miles on it. The whole warranty was transferrable, the guy who I sold it to had to pay Acura a $50 processing charge for the paperwork to be transferred. That, and it was all done through the dealer I originally bought the CL from. Not sure if that makes a difference....

 

the original factory warranty is 4 years/50,000 miles, so you do have a little more to play with.

 

yah it does.but need to be under the mileage of factory warranty provides. i bought my cls at 2000 aug and now it has 14600 miles on it
