yesterday i was driving home from school with three passengers, and my friend in the benz, also with three passengers, was behind me. he makes his move, gets a good three second acceleration head start on me, goes into right lane, and starts to pass me. i gun it, and pull even with him, but we stay even up to 100!! his car is a good 15 years old and mine is barely a year, but he stayed with me, and i was barely pulling on him

i shrugged it off, thinking it was a fluke, but then he did it again today. i am in the right lane, my other friend in a jeep is in left about 100 feet in front of me, and my friend with the benz comes up again. he goes into the middle of the street with the yellow lines and accelerates. i see this and put the pedal to the metal. we pass the jeep at like 80 on both sides (which was really cool), and he stays with me up to 100 again. how can this be? anyone know the stats on that car? i am really confused as to how he can stay with me.

don't feel bad...i WOT'd on the late 70's/early 80's MB convert with license plate "SMGBENZ" and stayed perfectly even up to around 80 before coming to a light...needless to say, i wasn't very happy

Did you slap the stick over to SS and downshift? Everyone knows about 4th gear's shitty ratio and the auto's tendencies to upshift early for fuel economy.
