Difference Between Cross Drilled and Slotted?

They're both the same price, which one is better?

They both achieve the same thing, which is allow the venting of pad vapor to relieve pad fade. Are you suffering from pad fade?

The reason why this is an important point to determine is because both cross-drilled and/or slotted brake rotors reduce the amount of actual contact area under the pads' swept area, which in is actually bad for braking performance. It is only through the reduction of previously existent pad fade that improved braking performance can be netted.

I posted before that my TL-S brake feeling isn't quite there. It feels like it brakes so much slower than before (coming off of a 97 Max GLE). The brakes don't feel like they have a bite anymore. I'm looking for cheap upgrades (SS Brake Lines, Axxis Pads etc) and someone said to get cross drilled/slotted rotors.

But you gotta be specific. You said "bite". I presume you mean that braking response feels inadequate even when, say, a block from pulling out of your driveway. You don't need to cook them on a long mountain run.

If that is the case, it isn't fade in any form, and cross-drilled and/or slotted rotors will not help. You probably want high-performance brake pads and SS-braided lines to improve the coefficent of friction and communicativeness of the "bite".
