Question Did I get a good $$$$$ Deal?

I just bought my fiance a 2003 CL-S 6 Speed with 30K miles in perfect condition 3 weeks ago and paid $16,800.00. Car is sweet and still has factory warranty. Could I get this much back out of it? I was not looking for this car but I found it in a car lot that had just taken it in on trade the day before. The dealer started at $22,000.00, I told him $16,800.00 and walked out. I was not expecting him to take it, as soon as I made it to the door...he stopped me and said "you have a deal". I think i did ok.

You did great. That car is worth at least 20-21k probably more.

What color is it? Navi?

Good to know! Let me know what my first mods should be. I am doing the M5 spoiler, did the 05TL shifter knob, going to do the lowering springs. Should I do the Ice box? I am thinking about the RonJon wheels. I am knew to this car, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Could you provide the name and address of that dealer. He won't be in business long unless something is "up" on that car. That's the best deal in history of Acura!!!!!!!!!!Too good to be true??????????

Welcome to the forum!!

Sounds like a great deal

Just curious as to why the dealer dropped the price $5200. Did you run a carfax on the car??

The car is a graphite color, I am not sure what Acura calls it. Black interior. I will take some pics this weekend and post them. The car has a clean carfax and is in perfect condition. Actually the only thing wrong with it is one of the headlights has moisture in it. The dealer has ordered a new light assembly but it takes 5-7 days. They are replacing it under warranty. The car has no signs of abuse whatsoever.

the car was dirty as hell when I saw it, it had not even been washed...they had taken it in on trade the day before. I am sure the the person who traded it in got killed on trade in value.

Yea, something’s fishy with this deal.
Either the dealer is a complete idiot or there’s something seriously wrong with that car.
He could have probably gotten more at the local auto auction.
But if it's legit.... AWESOME DEAL !!!

Anthracite, good for you that the seller was an idiot, unless something is wrong with the car. That car would sell anywhere for about $21-22 depending on the local market and demand. where are you?

In my expensive with cars, if something's too good to be true, it always has been. Good luck to you. As everyone said, that car's worth up to 22K USD.

Again, I ask: where are you from and who was the dealer? I suspect you are a BMW owner trying to get a rise out of Acura owners!!!

I am taking pics tomorrow, I am not a BMW guy trying to get a rise. I thought I got a pretty good deal...but did not know it was as good as you say. I am in Lakeland FL, I bought the car in Brandon, FL at Courtesy Toyota. The salemans name is Dan Lines. I walked to the back to see what they had and saw it but was not too impressed as it was filthy. It was the end of the month, and I low balled him with $18,400 with tax, tag, and title after he came to me with $22,000. He said no way. I walked away and told him I appreciated his help. He came behind me and asked me to pay the tax. I made it clear that my offer was all I was willing to pay. He made the deal right then and there. I have since cleaned up the car inside and out, and it runs great. Pics to follow tomorrow.

your first thread said 16,800 now it's 18,400. confused. was 18400 with tax off the 16800. regardless, still a good deal. you'll enjoy it, now you have to get to modding it. have fun.

Deals

I think a lot of dealers do not understand the CL-S or are worried about the tranny. I bought my 03-CL-S two months ago with Navi for 17,900. 31K miles, clean carfax.
Bought it from an Infinity dealer. I had check with Acura Nationwide and then called the Acura dealer who sold and serviced the car and the tranny had been replaced other than that the car is in great shape. Saw several cars from this dealer on EBAY but was late to the auction. It did not sell so I called up spoke to the internet sales person who told mne this was thier first attempt on ebay. I asked what the buy now price was and she said 17,900 i then told her I would come and look at it. The Sales manager was livid when I told him the price I was quoted as he (supposedly) was into the car for 18 and had to pay 500 to list on ebay. The card also had a add-on DVD andhad been tinted.

You got a good deal, enjoy the car.

I paid $24k for my anthracite 6 speed/Navi, w/7500 miles, spoiler, clear bra, mudguards, a year ago. I was happy with the deal considering how rare the 6 speed/Navi and anthracite is. Most were selling for more then. At 20k miles now I think I could sell it for about $22-23k still, but it might take a while to find the buyer.
