Talking Dealership Price Match

Well I've been searching the threads and ebay for a new rear view mirror and i couldn't find one without the liquid. My liquid shifted again for the second time!

So I decided to try the dealership today when I took in the car for the SRS light. While I was waiting for them to look at my car I was surfin the web for mirrors in a last ditch effort. So for shits and giggles I went onto an Acura OEM parts site and asked the parts guy if they can price match the site. He looked at the site, typed some stuff into his computer and said, "Sure I can do that." I was so surprised! They originally wanted 120 for the new mirror (no liquid) and I got it for 75 + tax!

Just wanted to share my succes story with everyone. So Don't be afraid to ask them! He said you'd be surprised what they do if you just ask.

Most dealers will price match. I do in to my dealer all the time and when they tell me the price, I say "I saw it online for $xxx.xx." They say ok. I dont bullshit though, if I didnt see it for a better price I would rip them off like that.

I was so stoked, cause he didn't even make a deal out of it. I had no idea you could do that! Great tip from now on!

Yeah man. I go to Libertyville Acura and they have always been helpful. That was the first part I bought from them and they price matched. Everyone else seems to have been able to do the same thing...sorry man.

Works with lots of things actually. I got a lumber quote from Lowe's for the deck I just built. They wanted $3000 in materials. Lumber company across town wanted $1400. Lowe's came back at $1350 delivered.

How do these places sleep at night...parts markup at the stealerships is normally 150-250%....

In this economy, most dealers are willing to deal. As my dealer told me the other day regarding accessory rims, they just want them gone.
