so ferrari just puts them on their cars for show? the bugatti veyron that holds the record for the fastest production vehicle? lamborghinis... etc.
they are all for show? if they advertise the car can do 200+mph, and my rotors crack, they are in for a serious law suit. i doubt they would do that and 'hope' their customers do not use the cars the way they were intended.
it all has to do with mass and size. there is no problem with cross drilling as long as the overall mass is large enough.

FYI... when I spoke of 90% for show I was referring to the dba 4000 rotors. Even dba says the slotted rotors are for performance while the slotted and drilled rotors are for performance with "style."

guys, i'm not saying that if you buy cross-drilled rotors they're going to crack, they probably wont. I missunderstood what mrsteve said and commented on how drilled are 90% for show. I don't think drilled are bad, my argument was simply that slotted, performance and race wise, are better for the job than drilled. When its time for brakes I'm more than likely going to put on cross-drilled...I love how aggressive they look...

Steve, I congratulate you on the mileage you got out of your Rotora's. I gave up on those POS rotors after 25K and went back to my never-out-of-round OEM rotors until I switched to the Cyro Powerslots. I'll not comment on them in this thread, but I am not having the same problems you had with the HPS's, and am happier with them than I was with the AXIS's pads I ran with the POS Rotora's. 147K and still looks showroom.

I was looking at these last year before I bought my second set of EBC rotors, but the 5000 series with the aluminum hats. They were too pricey though so I just bought the EBC again. I did buy the 4000's for the girlfriends Sorrento though. They were very good rotors.
I'm on my second set of EBC Greenstuff pads and love them. Great initial bite when cold and great braking when hot. I always wanted to upgrade to redstuff, but worried about their cold performance since I drive this car year round.

Just put my first set of EBC greenstuff's on my powerslot rotors and love them. Had (POS) Napa ceramics on prior...and those things were the loudest most annoying pads I've ever heard. My own fault for buying them. Live and learn.

Me too! Wondering how they held up. I'm aboutto buy the EBC rotors cause the DBA's (Wich are what I really want) are just about 50 more than I want to spend on my brakes.
If I had to guess I bet the REDStuff pads probably wore a little quicker than he may have wanted, atleast thats my experence.
And I don't know why anyone would compare the Rotora's to DBA as far as quality goes! Rotora's are no diff than the cheap Chinese (wich is what they are)rotors you get at the local parts store, but with slots in them, oh ant they cost twice to three times the $. Just look at the R&D DBA puts into them compared to Rotora.

NO issues so far. I need to replace the pads though. I've been waiting to do it for a while now but I rarely ever drive the car anymore now that I have a truck.
