Dash board lit up, dealer acting fishy...

Well, I had recently had the check engine light and the ! light, with the vsa all come on. I thought is was the tranny, but the dealer said it was th eO2 sensor when the ran the scan. The said that the wires where burned from contact and that it may have been caused by my dropping my car. I have had the drop for over a year now with no problems. what belse could have caused this? When a car is droped, the whole car is dropped, not the engine seperatly from the o2 sensor. I was wondering if maybe an engine mount may have failed and shifted the engine to sit on the O2 sensor? Opinions?

I'm not sure what caused it, but it sounds like the dealer's tryin' to get out of covering it. How is dropping it gonna do that? Clowns.

anything is possible, ask them to show it to you, i don't see how dropping the whole vehicle would change anything on the drivetrain

what about a header install I did about a year agao, the car ran beautifully until now. now it kinda shudders at idle and the lights dash lights mentioned go on. The service manager was telling me if it was caused by anything not covered, I would have to pay out of pocket. I thought they would diagnose the problem and figure if it was covered initially when i brought it in and left it there over night. I swear, some dealers see a set of wheels and want ot blame everything wrong with the car on that.

or some dealers see intake, headers, exhaust, wheels and a drop and figure they can blame anyone of those. Rondog, make sure that you still have the stock heatshield over the cat. For some reason when my headers were installed, it started making some noise and eventually had to be taken off. Also my cat got clogged after the header install. When it comes to the headers they may blame that too because the o2 sensor is so sensitive.

If the O2 sensor wires got damaged during a header-install... they might not cover it - you can't prove it either way. Lowering the car doesn't affect that!
