Damn dealers
As you all know, when you buy an Acura, the dealer gives this great pitch about loaners always being available. Well, the last 3 times I was in....no loaner & some crappy shuttle service. This time, they were out again, but I demanded something anyway....They called Hertz and out rolls a Mailbu
Whatever, I needed a car for the day so I start filling out the paper work. Hertz lady wants my credit card so they can charge me for gas! I say BS, make Acura pay for it w/ the car. Acura guy said he wouldn't...I say bring my car around, I'm leaving, will take my $$ somewhere else. He says hold on a sec and magically finds an RSX loaner. Bastards!
Any of you guys that own BMW's, Benz's, Lexus get this same kind of crap when you take a car in? If Acura really wants to be thought of as a true luxury car maker, they need to start acting like one!

I get a Ford Taurus loaner whenever I take the car in for ANY service.
I DO have to book it at least 2-weeks in advance though.
They used to use Integra’s, but switched to a rental agency that uses FORD to save money.
No complaints here.

I always book my service well in advance - each time they have told me a loaner would be available. Then, when I arrive, oops! no loaners!
I don't really care what they give me, but what makes me mad is that they make all kinds of promises when you buy the car (I was told the loaner fleet was TL's - they reaaly pitched this), then they don't follow through on them.
Yes, it could be worse, but Acura (at least this dealer) has not stepped up like I expected after hearing their promises etc.

And your post just reminded me to schedule my 7,500-mile oil change.
I just called and the earliest I got was December 3rd with a loaner car.

I actually PREFER that the loaner car be something cheap.
If the dealer is using TL’s or CL’s think of the depreciation they take on all of those every year.
If they buy a Taurus for 18-grand and run it into the ground over 3-years that’s fine with me.
If they use 30,000-dollar cars then the cost just gets passed onto the customers in higher sales and service prices.
Not to mention all the people that beat the LIVING SHIT out of loaner cars.

good point - I guess I just figured that when they told me the loaner were TLs, that I paid to have the TL as a loaner every time I get my car serviced. Oh well, I'm over it, done ranting....

Just call American Honda and bitch to them. Or threaten to give the dealer a lousey rating on their "survey form" that is sent after the service. You'll see a change in attitute.
My Acura dealer is also a Hunyundea dealer or however you pronounce it. That's what I get for a loaner. How un-exciting.

I have also only recieved Enterprise cars. A dodge Intrepid and a 2000 Toyota Camry LE. The lady representing Enterprise was a bitch to me and had to remind me that the Camry was there premium sedan. The damn thing was a base model with 41,000 miles on it. Acura had to pay extra for such a 'premium model'.

My dealer sometimes gives me an Acura loaner and sometimes a rental car. Either way, I dont care that much, but RSX loaner was fun.
You are silly to believe promises made by sales people during the sales process about Service the dealership provides, come on man, were you born yersterday. :duh:
If I get to my dealer early enough and they have Acura loaners, they will give me one, but I usually get there too late, so I am stuck with a rental. Fine by me, its a car which makes me appreciate my Acura more once I get it back from service.

Got a RSX as a loaner. Told me it'd be a rental, but I ended up with a loaner RSX. It's a loaner - whatever it is, it's WAY better than nothing. I think I can get used to having a warranty!
