Daily Project: Black out and clear headlights

Ill post before and after pics as soon as i am done. In the DIY where it says seperate plastic lens from black housing, they fail to mention that acura factory silicon is stronger than steel. Even after heating up the headlights in the oven that shit was still rubbery as hell.
Im painting the insides of the lights black. It looks pretty sick so far, im excited to see what its going to look like finally reassembled and put back on the car. wish me luck.

I put the whole damn thing in the oven, i sure hope my headlights work when i put them back on. The DIY said nothing about taking any of that shit off.

If it the tape kind don't even worry about it. You can easily remove it by warming it up then slowly pulling it off. Paint is another story.

At least whoever did yours didn't leave his ugly ass mark on your trunk

Typestylin, black on black looks awsome I can't wait to do mine. Best of luck to you grime, I hope they work ok when you put them back together, I'm worried about that also when I do mine. Just my opinion but I think the pinstripe is a little :ghey:

now is that an exact replica of 03 headlights? whats the difference?

i believe the differance other than the color between 01-02 & 03's are the way the pieces are separated....

hahahah i said the same thing when i was doing it, i was thinking "whoever does this in a few hours must be a magician"

i found the chrome in the headlights really easy to sand off, but the grill is a different story, mine chipped already so im gonna either repaint it or just buy a colour matched one from acura...i heard that peice of grill trim is like 30$

At least you cleared the corners

It looks good, and I kinda like the way it looks since it's unique. Sort of a cross between the 01/02 and 03 headlights...

no, just be very liberal with the silicon when you reseal them. Also FYI when you use one of those big caulking tubes of silicon you have to cut off the tip and stick something in the hole to puncture the seal inside the tube. i didnt take a 3/4 view.

yes. you will have a big pile of bolts and clips once you get the bumber and headlights off.

Looks much better, but as someone already pointed out you should have blacked out the rest of the headlight. I would get some chrome turn signal bulbs if i were you though
