custom fog lights in an 03
I'm planning to install my PIAA 1900x foglights in my 03 CL-S. I was thinking of having a shop cut out the roadlamp plastic piece to exactly fit the fog lights.......I was wondering if the PIAAs, because they are halogens, would be too hot and melt the roadlamp housing. I couldn't find anything when i searched, and I really have no idea exatcly how hot these things will get. But I was hoping for any advice or comments

i also am thinking about putting piaa's 2100xt extreme white fogs. the shop i'm taking it to said it shouldn't be a problem with the heat. they said it would run about $359.14 for everything the fogs would cost me $219.99 tx. and 129.00 for labor does that sound outragious? how much are they charging you?

I'm in rochester right now, when i was back in chicago I went to a shop and they quoted 1.5 hours of labor, so depending on the shop that should be right around 120-140. At your shop, did you talk to them about cutting the plastic roadlamp piece? I just assumed it was possible but didn't actually show the guys the piece.

in terms of a switch, i was planning to get the switch that came with the kit put into the blank button that is for the road lamps in the TL.....the one to the left of the steering wheel.
I can understand why you would think they might not blend well, thats why i was thinking that if i could paint the silver and blue parts black and then get them mounted flush into the black plastic roadlamp piece, all you would see is the bulb and that would look pretty seamless.

If the search worked you could see mine, I used PIAA Ion Yellow fogs mounted them in the road lamp housings on my 03, & Used the TL fatory switch. Looks, & works great. A few other guys did the same. The yellow goes so much better then tring to match the HID's. They also let me see the road alort better in the dark of night, or in bad weather.

Got the switch from http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org
It's the 03 one. The switch has 5 pins, the PIAA switch wire has 3 wires, so I had to make splices to make it work. I have the pin outs somewhere. I'll look for them. Works just like stock. Turns green when on, lights up with the headlights, only thing it can't do is dim with the dimmer switch. The lights are PIAA ION yellows not sure of the part #. I also don't see them on PIAA's website. I got mine off of Ebay.

Lights and switch
The 01-02 factory fog lights install in the same hole as the black cover. If you feel in the grill area inboard of the light, you will feel the phillips screw head.
I have the lights installed, but not yet wired.
Fuzzy, I have the TL switch. If you can find the wiring diagram, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Carey
