damn jonesi... im sorry to hear/see what happened to your CT springs.. seeing as this happened to your springs, wouldn't it be a good idea to go with springs from another company, such as H&R? just my two cents..

Despite the problems and how I still trust Comptechs quality.. This is only like the 2nd or 3rd case.. Maybe I'm bias b/c I work in Quality Control but I'll still go with them..

HOLY CRAP MAN !!!
Those look like something that came off a 72 Dodge Dart that’s been sitting in the junkyard since 1980.
My CL-S gets driven in the beautiful Pennsylvania winters through salt, slush & brine.
Last time I looked at my Comptech Springs, they had some minor surface rust.
Next time I wash it I’m gonna jack it up and have a closer look at the springs with my shop light.

With springs like that, I would've thought the car would bottom out and just stay there.

I called Comptech and asked about this issue. Nate said that early on they had problems with the folks who were doing the powder coating. He said the folks now doing the powder coating are doing it well and rusting should not happen. Still makes me wonder because factory springs can last decades.
I was just about to pull the trigger on a set of Comptech springs, but now I'm rethinking the idea.

This should NOT happen in 4-years on the road.

Is there any kind of date code we can check on the box?
Mine were purchased/installed in spring 2002 and they’re definitely showing surface rust.

Damn that pic is crazy. My dad had an '88 Acura Legend with over 250k on the odometer and he sold it to a neighborhood kid and the spring on the front passenger side finally broke this past spring. Thats 16 years of being driven all the time before one spring broke!
I only have about 10K miles on my Tein SS coilovers, but they've been driven through the winter salt/sand, and they're still black. No signs of rust or anything.
Hopefully if this is Comptech's fault they will own up to it and fix those who have been effected.

Mine were installed early this year but I've had them since late last year. I'm hoping that the problem was fixed

2nd bad response i've heard from customer service at comptech. My buddy bought their sprigns for his RSX and the whole car was uneven. Comptech took back the springs but IMO they should of paid for his install costs, cost him over $500!!!
They should definately give you ATLEAST A FULL REFUND
althought it sounds like you werent' the original buyer
