Cracked headlamp housing...

So there was some bad winter weather here and i basically skidded about 25 feet into the back of a pickup truck at a walking pace speed.

There doesn't appear to be any damage to my bumper or hood, but because of the trucks height, his bumper cracked my driver side headlamp housing - the plastic thing that covers the lamp. The bulbs all work but the plastic is cracked and some plastic pieces inside are cracked too.

Do i need to get the WHOLE headlamp piece replaced including the bulbs or is there just a plastic piece that can be replaced? I'm trying to budget my costs on this. I'm told the mechanic most probably needs to remove the bumper to do this.

Just want to make sure the body shop doesn't pull a fast one on me.

Thanks guys..

2003 CL-S 6spd.

You can buy just the housing.

Do it yourself if you have access to a garage. Removing the bumper is a piece of cake and mostly common sense. Just keep removing bolts and clips until you feel the thing get loose, and you being a 6-speed, you don't even have to worry about removing the fog light wiring when taking off the bumper.

Save yourself some money and do it on your own, its a good learning experience.

But like Ravi said, the bulb and housing are seperate. You don't need to drop another $100 on the bulb. Good luck

Thats a ripoff if they are only going to replace one headlight housing and then reuse the old bulb, $531 Canadian converts to about $450 US. It shouldn't cost more than $150 U.S to get this done unless there is other work needed besides what you said.

First and foremost, check the black market here before you buy brand new. Second, look in this theread... https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...light=solenoid

There are a bunch of different parts distributors listed in there that are surely cheaper than what you've found. Good luck.

Thanks i went to Acuraautomotiveparts.org and found this:

205720 025 1 HEADLIGHT UNIT, L

Is this the only part I need to order to get this head light housing replaced? Do i need to order any screws, clips etc.. ?

I'll probably get my friend who's a mechanic to install it. I assume the prices on this site is in USD.
