Get the CT, looks great, and no need for camber kit.

Well while we are at it, can we throw the differences between the H&R Sport Springs and Eibach Pro-Kit around? Arent they nearly the same drop and some guys need camber some dont?

That's not always true. A local guy required one; stock rims and tires too. I'm sure 99/100 times you won't need one, BUT it isn't a 100% fact.

The eibach and the comptechs are a totally different drop. The eibach is much more drastic than the CT.

I have the H&R Sport and I'm not going to say they are the best, because i'll admit I am biased.

If you want to see pics of my H&R drop on stock rims and tires i'll post them.

Comptech drop is very noticeable. It just looks stock after you get used to it. Depends what you are after. A friend of mine and I were riding around and I saw a CL and pointed it out. He said "why is it all jacked up in the air"? I told him beacause mine is lowered. (Comptech) Looks pretty much stock though. Except for the rake. You gotta love the rake to get the Comptechs.

Get eibach, the drop is PERFECT. and the ride isn't too bad. I haven't gotten my alignment so i don't know if i will need a camber kit or not. However, from my eyes my camber is not off

The drop of the Eibach is more than the H&R sports. With the H&Rs it is hit or miss if you need a camber kit, with the Eibach i'm almost positive you'll need it.

I'm very impressed that you can tell if your camber is off simply eyeballing. Do you check your tire pressure by squeezing the tires?

The likelihood that camber kits will be required is greater with Eibach than with Comptech.

ccc.net has the Pro-kits @ 1.8"F/1.5"R and has the H&R Sports @ 1.75"F/1.5"R. So, how is the H&R more drastic? Why the fvck is it so hard to get an even decent drop spring for the CL?

And Mrsteve, post those pics biiiitch.

I have the H&R sports, derelict has the eibach. We have had our cars parked next to each other and his still sits slightly lower than mine. It isn't a huge difference. He needed a camber kit, so do I. Last time I saw him he was planning on intentionally aligning his with negative camber to decrease rubbing. I have no rubbing with my H&R drop. Although I am very close.

pro-kit is 2.0/1.7.... but when settled the back is actually slightly lower than the front. I'm very happy with mine.

edit: I went ahead and had the intentional neg camber put in last alignment. It helped on about 2 of the 6 places on my normal commute that I always rub. I never rubbed on stock rims though.

Ya I'm not a complete fan of the tire's sidewall appearance. The height is ok but it bulges so much. I'm driving these tires hard to wear them out quickly :P Next time around I may just go with 215's... or a different brand of 225's. I never would have expected 225's to stick out so much beyond an 8" wide rim. Also, my ride is starting to get more and more bouncy... been about 10k miles... I guess the stock shocks are starting to show signs of wear. I can probably hold out another 10k if I wanted to, but I may need to get the koni's earlier than I expected. Should have listened to everyone here and just gotten them when I replaced the springs. Live and learn :o

Koni's are so expensive though, how often will you really adjust your shocks... maybe twice till you get it right...

I didnt know that 235/45/17 rubber on stock rims stick out....I was planning on doing that when my 215/50/17 contis wear out.
Whats the best tire size for grip/acceleration and if it will throw off speedometer and odometer, by how much?

He doesn't have stock rims, he has 17" x 8" rims. 225/50/17 Totally different story. Conti's are also bigger than other tires, like the stock Michelin's, they just run slightly bigger even though the size is the same.

If you have a standard drop such as the H&R sport that isnt adjustable you can still eventually switch out your stock 17's with 18s right with no problem?

yes but you can even out the gap an actually have the front sit slightly lower with the koni yellows becuase of the adj spring perch. and as far as adj them. it comes in handy all the time for me. especially movin in and out of college. i set the rear nice and firm when i load up and it helps keep me from sittin low. plus u can adj them to your liking instead of being stuck with what you got. finally my experience with koni and repair probelms has been great. even though my friend blew his shock cuz the shop never put the bump stops in koni gave him a new one.

Well when you load the trunk up, it still shouldnt cause any problems, itll just make the back sit lower for a little bit, this drop isnt that big its only 1.75/1.5

Yes because the overall size of your 17" rims and tires and the 18" rims and tires deson't change really. 25.5" vs 25.4" As long as you get the right size tires.

Well, I have the Comptechs and am going to buy the HRs to even out my drop. The rake look just plain old sucks.

You wanna buy my Comptechs?

Rake means the rear of the car is higher than the front of the car. This is typical with the CT springs.
