comptech springs?

For those of you who have the comptech springs, did you buy new struts also? How is the ride compared to stock. Try to be as objective as possible. I'm considering getting these, but I don't want to ruin the stock ride. How is the ride for those of you who changed out the stock struts, and also for those that did? What kind of struts match well with these springs if needed?

i have CT's on stock shocks

the CT's r the most conservative drop and have the least impact on the stock ride

if u wanna maintain the stock ride as much as possible, the CT's r the way to go...u don't need to change anything else out

Comptech springs will wear out the stock shocks faster then with out them. How much is still in question. A few people have 50K miles on them with no problems, a few had less then that, & the stock shocks went. Comptechs are the way to go to keep the ride good. I'm getting these springs in a few weeks, however I'm also getting some Tokico blue shocks to replace the stocks. These are just replacment shocks that are a little better then stock, & will be a tad firmer. These should be ok for long term use of the comptech springs. These are not adjustable just stock replacments. I figured I'm paying for the sping install, might as well install the new shock as well. Why pay for labor 2 times?

I didn't change the stock shocks when I got the springs. I had the sway bars added at the same time and with both mods together the ride is noticably firmer than stock. Handling is a lot better too. Good luck!

I had the Comptechs on stock shocks for about 5K miles. The ride is closest to stock and the drop is nice. Handling also improves, esp if you have the sways. I got Teins now, but I loved the comptechs when I had them on.

I had the CT spring and anti-sways put in at the same time and kept the stock shocks.

The ride is a little firmer but IMHO it does not sacrifices the ride quality, if anything the new spring made the car feel more stable (to the ground) in straight line.

The addition of the anti-sways bars made a world of difference in the handling on curves.

I really like the way it looks (drop but not too much).
the way it rides (firm but yet still confortable) and the
way it handles in the curves (like a smaller more tosable car)

The whole package of Comptech springs, Comptech sways and Koni struts are awesome. As others have said, the Comptech springs aaaare the least radical and don't affect ride much, also no problems with curbs or driveways. If you can do struts, get them. They change the whole personality of the handling, much more on rails. Sways are the best bang for the $$.
