Comptech S/C Questions

So I'm thinking about buying the comptech s/c from a member on the bm, but I have a few questions. The S/C has 35k on it, so is that bad? Also, i just need to get new spark plugs, belt, and a camshaft o-ring, but i guess i can use my old one. Any other things I should be asking or aware of? And lastly, a good price?

Ohh the $1500 blower kit, haha lucky you, I would get that Ultra SC crank pulley to go with your blower, have heard it makes a big difference.

I've been thinking about selling my kit for around 2K and I already started to port and polish the blower inlet and all the other pieces, for another $300 I could get it polished for you too

Just pm me for details.

looks like tommorow im probably going to seal the deal, but he said that the dyno numbers were around 275whp and like 245tq. Does that sound right?

I still don't get how Sean is getting such high numbers from only 4psi, 328/280, I guess I will just have to throw in my S/C and HBP and see what I make too.

The Crank pulley (UR-SC) won't give you much and the underdrive UR pulley will make you lose power.

Samir, glad to see you're going through with the install.

Unless someone has one laying around it will be from Comptech for I think $79.

328/280 is at the hubs and usually the wheel numbers are really close by usually they are dead on with the hub numbers since hes been able to test on boths and thats what has been noticed.

My max wtq on a dynapack NA is 239 so 4.5psi should give you about 40 more torque, he also has 328 to my 278 so thats 50 more.

Just make sure your setup flows well, and when you dyno its important to dyno when everything is cool, at most just warm after just one run you can lose up ~20hp.

Did I say 245?

My dyno

CA gets crappy gas I wouldn't recommend getting a HBP unless you want to blow your engine. You should look into getting an intercooler and emanage if you want to boost more (plus money to tune). But personally I think its plenty fast the way it is.

On the porting stuff, current M62s are s-ported from the factory already. Gains from polishing the other stuff is probably minimal.

Yeah I guess mytran's setup was untuned as well. So it makes sense.

Your dyno numbers never cease to amaze me. Now go S/C that thing.

I believe you can get it tuned with the HBP setup since you got only 91 octane available , one of the members Allout achieved this

Outlaw spacers will work with the S/C setup like mine. make sure you get the Denso IK22 (RSX plugs) spark plugs. Boost gauge, AEM UEGO A/F, Fuel Pressure gauge for safetly montoring. your gonna love the blower since you got a 6spd

if you need an alternator pulley, let me know, I ordered one by accident and was too lazy to return it from comptech, its still in the box and I can give you a deal on it. I also have some extra 3 lb boost belts and some other random parts, let me know. And to answer your question, 35 K is nothing, i have over 85 k on my blower, knock on wood.

Hmm. If it'll fit on my CL-P then I think we could work out a deal. I don't want to have to wait around for extra parts tho. If it's all ready to go onto my car with no problems we could definitely see what's up. And you're not too far from me so maybe I could pick it up if it goes through. PM me man.
