Comptech Headers & Icebox Installed!

I know, I know.....everybody does this when they put it on, but it's MY TURN now!!

So to sum it up...

Today the headers and icebox came in the mail I was at work when my dad called and told me they arrived. I almost shat bricks. Anyways, after work, I grab a bite to eat w/ my pops, and head on over to Allmotor's house. Homie was cool man . Anyways, I got there by about 6:45, and the header install went quite smoothly. We finished the headers at about 8:20, and started on the Icebox. The icebox we had a few problems with some of the bolts and shit, but got that all figured out and was finished by 9:45 with everything. Afterwards, he and I took a test drive and man, it sounds JUST the way I want to. No offense to guys w/ exhaust, but I am so sick and tires of the sound of exhaust that I couldn't stand to go w/ it with this car. The sound this engine makes w/ the IceBox and Headers is fucking sweet! It gives the engine a nice throaty sound, and opens up nicely in VTEC. I noticed RIGHT away that the car drives much smoother through the gears. Of course the increased airflow will do that for ya . And the power it makes in VTEC is . Pick up on this car now is jsut amazing now. What a world of difference! I need to break it in a lil' more and I'll keep you all up to date. Tomorrow, I'm gonna get my headlights cleared, then on Saturday, I'm picking up TEIN SS coilovers and I'm getting my Comptech Swaybars installed. The following week I'll hve NiteQwill install the TEIN's! What a fucking week!

`John

P.S. Thank you so much allmotor!!

ahh yes, I love you all

Just got back from more "test driving"...damn 3rd gear just flies on the freeway now, its amazing, heh. Anyways, thanks for all the congrats, I appreciate it!

I had a question. I had this before I installed the stuff today, but it seems to be more noticeable. When I LIGHTLY, and I mean LIGHTLY put pressure on the gas pedal and cruise at like 5 mph, I hear a sound comin from under the hood like "errrrrrrr" and its sounds mechanical. No its not the ABS check, this is diff. This sound will stay on if I cruise at 5mph at the same rpm's. It's hard to explain the sound, but it definitely sounds mechanical, for sure. Anybody else have this?

Besides that, all is well

Btw, with the Tein SS coilovers, I plan on dropping it between 1.5-2.0 inches, no more. Will I need a camber kit? Cause I have no more cash to spend on a fucking camber kit. What ride height will I be cool at w/out needing a camber kit??

hey allmotor, I don't have access to my dads friends shop anymore and was wondering if you have something that can cut metal. There are these tabs under the front fender I need to cut off that my tires are rubbing. You got anything that can help me out?

Congrats man.

Headers and exhaust are a sweet combo to do at once.

Did you hear an exhaust on another member's CL, or have you had an exhaust on your car in the past?

both Chap...

my last car it was...and no matter how slow I was driving, all I heard was exhaust, it got annoying. I just drove some dood's TL-S the other day w/ CT headers & exhaust, and it does sound sweet, but you hear it all the time, and I get annoyed of that.

Yeah, can make for some sweet sounds. And, I sure used to get real tired of the otherwise magic sounds on long freeway drives. They didn't have noise-canceling headsets at the time. Also, nothing like alerting every police car in a 10-square-mile area -- hey?

Somebody should make a resonator/muffler with a solenoid activated sleeve/barrel/chamber control to change from "quiet" to "sporty" to "mean."

At least the intake and headers are quiet at part throttle!

Congratulations!

Headers helped me knock off a full half a second in the quarter-mile. They are awesome.
