complete power cut + battery light

Today while driving, all of a sudden my car stopped responding to "Acceleration" and battery light went on. The engine kept running at 800 RPM. I pulled to the side, battery light was on. But if you press gas RPMs would not move. So I stop the car, start it again, battery light is gone, and car drives normally. WTF was that, any ideas?
Spark plugs only 1 year old, battery is less than 1 year old.

i'd test the battery but odds are it was either a one time glitch, or badd connection somewhere.

my car did some weird business a few weeks ago and it turned out all i needed to do was unplug the tps and a few other connectors around there and it worked like new again.

I always thought if battery goes, car drives fine on alternator. Or if alternator goes, it drives on battery for 5-10 minutes before you see a problem.
Chances of both being bad at the same time? Unlikely, given that battery is only 6 month old... Sounds like bad connection, its now impossible to find it, no one is going to look at it unless problem is obvious....

^ Not entirely. On old cars that works, but newer cars have so many systems in them that they need both the battery and alternator working properly for the car to function correctly.

Check and clean all your grounds.

I was listening to the radio one time and all of a sudden the radio cuts off and I can't crank up the car. I get the infamous clicking noise.

The battery was good, but my connectors were so corroded they needed to be replaced. I replaced the connectors and the car cranked up and no problem since.

Clean the connectors if that doesn't work... replace the connectors.

I am selling it now... Alarm starts going off randomly too..., time for new car, no mechanic can help unless you reproduce the problem... they can check some wires, but they said its usually pointless unless its obvious

For the alarm - Check the switches on the doors, hood and trunk.
