Commercial PickUp Truck owned me

No I wasn't in an accident... but some damn Dirty Pickup truck I was behind hit my car with all sorts of debris and my car has a buncha new scratches over the previous existing ones... I did get the license plate number and the Edison PD is supposed to be calling me soon and coming here. Is there anyway I can get w/e company the pickup truck is from to pay for a paint job?

Sorry to hear. Common occurance here in FL. These POS trucks loaded wiht junk always try to drive on the HW that everyone else is going 70+ on. They try to keep up & crap flies out of these trucks at those speeds.
Sometimes their insurance will cover it. Depends on how willing the company is to work something out. A lot of time they will deny it. Do you really have any proof? If not it's a tough thing to get done.

Got the name of the company the truck works for. Should I just call them or go through my insurance to go after theirs?

Sorry to hear about your car. I would call the company first and see what they have to say. They may help you out.

in our state we can sue for restitution so even if the ins co tells us to get lost, the company can still be held liable

I hate that!!!
In my Integra a few years ago, I was driving and saw something flying up and over towards me from a truck on the other side of the road going about 70MPH in the opposite direction... I literally watched the small rock come from the truck and crack my windshield...
To make sure the insurance company would fix it, I just lightly tapped on the glass with the glass with the meaty portion of my hand until the crack went from 5 inches to about 25 inches...

If you hate it, try doing 80 on the highway with my helmet on (NH has no helmet law) and having the debris from a truck smacking you in the face... That stings!!!

In Washington state, they just past a law to where if you don't have your stuff tied down, you can be fined up to $5000 or up to 1 year in jail.

In Louisiana, if anything flies from your car and hits another, the person from whose car the debris fell from is liable

I'm going to say that it will be tough to get them to pay for the paint job. It happened to me a couple times and I called one place just to hear the laughter when I spoke to the manager.

Chances are slim to none anything will happen. When I had my Integra I was behind a work truck. Something hit my windshield and cracked it. I called the company and told them what happened. The lady actually laughed at me and said "Do you have ANY proof the truck caused that?" I was pissed but later thought about. Unless you pull the guy over right at the time of the incident, or you can trace the "debris" that hit you back to the truck, I'd say don't waste your energy.

And for those that say "get a lawyer" Any lawyer worth his salt will probably hang up on you before you get the whole story out.
