Cold Weather + Car=wierd idle

I know that when it is cold the car idles higher but it seems to be idling higher (around 1,500 ish rpm's) then normal. It also seems that the car almost wants to die when the rpms fall to about 1k then catches and bring it up the rpm's up with a little shake. All of these problems go away once the car warms up but it that normal?

wonder if its a cold start sensor. my 89 camry runs rough for 10 seconds then smooths out.

In my opinion it's pretty much the same on many cars...whenevr it really cold outside...wierd shit happens. Plus this year they changed the blend of Winter gas...no more MTBE...no we use ethanol I believe. When the car was produced the ecu was never trained to run on such a blend so u might encounter some problems.
