Coilovers = adjustable springs and shocks, can be adjustable shocks also. Can or can not have upper pillow mount.

Springs = "coils". Just comes with springs. Shocks are sold separately. Is not adjustable.

Sleeves = i.e. Ground Controls. Adjustable springs with no shocks.

so if i get fully adjustable coilovers they come with shocks too?

would it be better to do that when i switch, or to go with a ct springs/koni yellows setup

Comptech springs - $300 + Koni shocks - $500 = $800.
Teins (adjustable height and shocks) = $850 shipped.

In a sense...any way you want. That's the beauty of adjustable shocks. They offer fine tuning of a suspension setup. But also keep in mind, springs are important too. Stiffer springs offer higher levels of performance, but at the cost of comfort, and vice versa. The Comptech Springs, according to Comptech, is about 10% stiffer than stock. So you gain more performance than stock. The Tein springs were designed for the Accord (which is 400 lbs lighter than the CLS) so basically it would even out comparing the Comptech springs to the Tein springs. Shock wise...the Koni Yellow Adjustables are amazing with their adjustable dampers. You can put it soft to your liking or stiffer for better performance. The Tein shocks are equally great. But keep in mind this, because Tein designed the spring and shock...they work incredible together. Whereas your mating Comptech springs to Koni shocks, while it is not bad, it might not be entirely as good as Tein in the respect that Tein produced the spring and shock to work each other.

If you are a person who loves the ride of the car the way it is now, I would highly recommend that you DO NOT get springs/shocks. Cause even the Comptechs will change the feel. If you are one that is extremely sensitive to ride quality and want performance, I would recommend you get sways instead. Also keep in mind, the stiffer the suspension, the more bouncy of a ride. The softer a suspension, the more smooth it is, but if it's a spring that is a low drop but a soft spring, you will experience a condition known as "bottoming-out". That is when the spring and shock can not absorb enough shock of going over a pot hole or speed bump or so and it allows the entire wheel/tire and other suspension parts ot hit other parts of your car causing a "thunking" sound.

Explanation is great just want a little more clarification and opinions about the two setups.

I'll have sways installed soon (have them in box), but when i get rims(yes it always come down to funds so i'm not sure when) I'd like more performance but comfortable.
