Clutch Blown? Input Please.

With this thread I'm hoping someone can provide their and shed some light on what I hope is only a clutch replacement. I've been following this forum for years (and actually the reason why I got the CL) and must say I appreciate the knowledge the members contribute.

I pulled onto the street and did a fairly hard shift into 2nd and on shift immediately clunky noises and no power to wheels. I pulled over engine still running good and softly tested first and again clunk noises and no movement.

The clutch has been showing signs of wear and that's what I think it is but I'm interested what else it might be. I'm looking into parts now and wondering what else I should potentially prepare myself for.

Thanks

This sounds like what happened to me recently. I snapped my driver side axle. You can just look under the car and can tell if the axle is snapped or not.

Thanks guys. Pretty much in tune with what I'm hearing from other people. I'll take a look when I go to check on the car today. I'm going to bring the car to a shop just a block away from where it's parked... at least that's convenient. I'll find out the damage then.

And yes, I can shift into gears when car is on.
