Who has the fastest CLS in the US? Do you think he can take my Maxima?

It's a 1999 Maxima with bolt ons. No internal work. Just curious what kind of 1/4 time CLS runs.

I don't know but judging by experience my CL-S with 4 6'something people in it, and a full tank of gas beats 99 maxima with only a driver in it.

Virginia. The subject is just to get everyone's attention. I'm really just curious what's the fastest CLS time you ever witness. As for my mods, mods for maxima are limited. Don't worry..No supercharger on my Max.

Car and Driver June 1998 lists the 4 speed auto Nissan Max SE 0-60mph in 8.2 sec and 1/4 mile in 16.5 sec.. Acura CL-S is nearly two seconds faster than that (0-60mph and 1.4 mile) stock vs. stock. Those bolt-ons better increase your hp a ton to lower your times by 2 seconds.

I think someone posted a 0-60mph time of 5.85 seconds (stock) and probably have seen 1/4 mile times under 14 secs (probably with nitrous), the 3.5CL has 1/4 mile time of 14.0 secs and stock with a Xephyr intake ran a 14.4.

Going fast is one thing. I'm more into stopping quicker. Here's a pic of my brakes.

HI everybody! IM a newbie here!

The fastest CL-S I've seen does 13.525 1/4 mile, Obviously NOT stock, has NOS. I live down here in Florida, one day while at the track with my H22A Accord, (pre CL-S purchase ) One spanked me! he did 13.525 and I pulled a 14.443; Which opted me to get one. Its about as fast as my accord, but its STOCK and I have a H22A (JDM prelude motor 220ps) The CL is ALOT SMOOTHER, AND NICER!

Yup I thought right.. only CL-S to pull well under 14 secs in the 1.4 mile had to have NOS.. what kinda honda is that in your pic? not an inspire.. is it a honda saber?

That's the older Maxima right? Not the one out now? Cause I think I saw some dude just and intake and maybe exhaust on his new 5spd GXE maxima run like 14.8.

The old one I kno ran the 1/4 in like 15.4 or so. Whoever was posted staying that the Maxima ran the 1/4 in 16.4 was obviously reading on the wrong line. The 1996 Maxima listed a time of 15.1 and 0-60 in 6.6. Obviously that person hasn't driven a Maxima. They make easy prey of v6 accords with mods... stock maximas that is.

He's referring to an auto max for that 16.4 1/4 mile and 0-60 8.6...I know for sure 5spd max are quicker...

Yea I was referring to the older Maxima with the 190hp AND with a 4-speed AUTO. And yes I have driven a 1998 Nissan Maxima before. Motor Trend in April 1997 lists the 5-speed manual Maxima SE at 7.1 secs for the 0-60 mph and 15.5 for the 1/4 mile.. but yes you are right those times can smoke stock Accord V-6s.. but modded ones?.. it depends how much and what kinda mods to the Accords (not just stickers.. haha)

Thank god -- OK, your back looks great

Need I mention, the latest commercials. I notice how the Sentra commercial gets a butt shot, but not the NEW 2001 Maxima. Sorry, I loved the old ones, just didn't know who would change the rear lights in the new one.

The 2001 was one of my test drives, before giving up my '92...

Yea the recent times i've seen on the Maxi are like 15.4. I do remember seeing a 15.1 though. Just look for the 96 Maxima specs. However at the track I haven't seen any come near that?

They are 18s. Maxima is a huge car so anything less than 20s look small on it. The 18" TE-37 are ~18lbs each.

My friend with a Maxima, same model as 1max2nv except in 5 speed manual, ran a 13.6 last week at Moroso race track. His time was better than a stock CL-S with 100 shot NOS that ran a 13.9 on the same day. My friend's Maxima's mods include: intake, exhaust, port and polished head, reinforced engine block and internals, 120-150 shot NOS. This would most likely mean that he could hang with a stock CL-S, provided both aren't spraying.
