CLS/Navi/6speed price... think i can do better?
lazy to use search tool.... i'm a veteran, i'm allowed!
the guy that sold me my 01 CLS Navi gave me a quote of $31,700 on a CLS/Navi/6speed. He did a search for 5 states (NJ,NY,PA,CT,RI,MASS) and located only SIX new dealer cars that fit that criteria in all colors. I narrowed it down to Anthracite or Aegean Blue and he told me about $1500 below sticker. I'm hoping i can get a spoiler thrown in. What'd all u 6MT guys pay and am i getting a good deal here?
FAWK! I GOTTA learn how to drive a manual tranny first!
Note: I'm counting my chickens beforehand... havent heard back from the insurance co yet if its gonna be a total loss or if they're gonna fix it. honestly, i'd rather them fix it, it sucks to renew my finance for another 5 years. I've already paid like ~$22,000 (payments+downpayment) so far for a car thats 2 1/2 years old and now to start all over again is just plain non-sense.
Upon further examining of the car the radiator is resting on the engine. No VISIBLE engine damage, and believe it or not, the radiator wasnt broken. Bent/mangled, yeah, but no fluids at all were lost, so i'm assuming it'd essentially still work.
But anyway... it WOULD be a NEW SIX Speed..

well I paid 28350 for my 6spd non navi... so add about 2000 to that and so you sohuld be paying 30350 and not a penny more... this car is hard to sell... they want to get rid of it... work 'em for everything their worth... call around... the 6MT according to others who have owned the 5AT is definetely worth the swap if you're really into CLs... otherwise you might look at alternatives to the CLS...

I don't know how it is in Texas or New England, but in the Chicago area, they weren't dealing much on the 6-speed. No more than $1000 below sticker.
As for being hard to sell, I'm not sure where you get your information. What I've been hearing is that the 6-speeds are selling pretty well (at least in my area) and that they're having no problems selling them at all. Things may be different down in Texas.

I got my 6spd for $500 over invoice (no navi). My dealer had to locate mine in another dealers stock (red w/ parchment is not a popular color combo I guess). Check out edmunds.com for an idea of what other people are paying.
Here in new england the 6spd seem to be selling well. Between both Acura dealers in RI they had one (1) 6spd. Of course that could be because each dealership only gets one 6spd per month. The CLS autos seem to take longer to sell (because of the tranny problems?).
Even w/ my dealer having to get my 6spd from neighboring MA, I think I might have been able to get a price closer to invoice (usually the dealer can be more flexible on price if you buy off their lot). I went into the deal thinking that $500 over invoice was a fair price.
civic4982: Nice price. I should have you help me negotiate my next new car purchase Just curious - Was the destination charge of $500 included in the 28350 ?? Did your dealer have a bunch of 6spds on their lot ??

Got mine for roughly $500 above invoice for a 6MT non-navi w/ spoiler. I think before tax it was around 29.8K or so....they had the color I wanted. The other dealers offered me $200 over invoice for anything they had, including 6MT w/ navi but none of them had the color I wanted. So I paid the extra $250 to the dealer w/ the anthracite.
Don't worry, learning to drive a manual on a new car is fun! I learned at the dealer in '98 when I bought my GSR...of course, I learned on a different car than the one I bought
Hope insurance works out for you!

Back in March, I paid 33,500 with NAVI, spoiler, lots o’ Gold emblems and splashguards.
Sticker was 34,300 including the 480 delivery and options so it works out to about 800 off retail.
I think 31,700 is pretty good considering Acura may have already built and delivered to the dealers the years allotment of 2,700 cars.
Tell them you’ll sign if they throw in the spoiler for free.

PS….OTD or “out the door” is a BAD comparison to make here considering every deal is different.
All states TAX differently and your trade has a lot to do with this also.
For instance, I got 24,000 trade for my 2001 so I only had to pay PA tax on 9,500-dollars.
See how this might confuse the numbers if I gave you my “otd” price as compared to someone who had no trade?
