here goes one video that we got. i'll post others soon.
SDCLS(AT w/I/H/CP) on the left vs. Jrezo(6spd e/intake) on the right. as you can see, here he got a slight jump on me and held it.

note: the camera car (3G TL w/intake) was flooring it the whole time as well.

I actually don't know what my sig says.
Here are my mods

HR OE Springs with Tokico Illuminas
CT Headers
CT Icebox
Thermoblock Spacers
UR Pulley
CT Sways
CT Tranny Cooler
Neuspeed Tower Bar
Poly filled Mounts (Actually has helped with shifting)

I think thats it, I can't really remember what else.

As for racing, I will be in Newark for the next 2 weeks for work including the weekends starting this Sunday the 14th.

I can't take a risk racing on streets even if they are clear.

But I am all about running, just let me know whats up.

Would it be safe to assume then that a Auto CLS with Intake be pretty equal with a Auto 3G TL?

definitely. an A/T 2G CL-S should be just slightly faster if not equal to an A/T 3G TL.

I managed to race a 07 TL-S 6spd from a dig and up to about third gear we were even, although I was having some shifter cable problems.

No doubt the new TL-S are no slouches

Don't be mad because a modded 6 year old auto CL-S will spank your new TL-s..

Read what everyone is saying, they are comparing a MODDED CL-S to a stock 07 TL-S. I don't think anyone is assuming otherwise.

.....EDIT 260 hp and your car has 286 hp Get your facts stright

"Yeah right".....

Do you know what your car runs on 1/4 mile? Your car has 286hp and it 200lbs heavier. This is a damb good run

Do you live close to San Diego? We got a stock 6 speed and a modded auto that would love to see how fast you claim to be.

Hey man, don't forget. There are new SAE standards for hp ratings and our CL's were not rated under the tighter scrutiny specs while the new TL-S was.

Therefore, our cars are actually overrated in terms of HP if you rated it against the new SAE standards while his TL-S is.

Our cars are closer to 250hp than they are to 260 hp stock.

My bad, forgot about that.

on me, Still a good run if you ask me. I read a post in TL-S 1/4 mile and the guys best run of the day was a 14.8 stock 07TL-s AT. No dis to the guy, track conditions, new car ect. but a great comparison of numbers, na mean

Yes there are new SAE standards and the new TL is 258 and the TL-S is 286 but the dyno numbers don't lie. I've seen a bone stock 3G TL have 212 whp (258 hp - 46 = 212 whp) and a stock 6 speed 2G CL-S have 214 whp (260 - 46 = 214 whp) . Yea the conditions might have been slightly different and not all dyno places are the same but thats pretty close. Now add headers ~+20-30 hp and intake +5 and -200 lbs lighter you should be just as fast as 3G TL-S.

I think my Headers and Intake numbers are safe. I've seen 30 hp just from headers:
260 + 20 +5 = 285 hp.... I'll even give you benifit of the doubt on your 250hp CL-S
250 +20 +5 = 275 hp now remember CL-S is 200 lbs lighter... then its all a drivers race.

I know I'm playing the number game but from the data I've seen a modded 6 speed CL-S with a good driver vs stock 3G TL-S is pretty damn equal.

Only one way to prove me wrong we gotta see this in real life conditions or it will never be anything more than a myth.

Who's in?

It was pretty clear that he was running on 19's. You forgot to mention that. Also it was his first time at the track with a high hp FWD.
Im not bashing on the CL-S, i used to have one with Intake/headers/exhaust and the car was fast. I now drive a 07 TL-S and i can feel big difference in performance, specially from a dig in 1st and 2nd gear.

Have you ever seen a CL-S with intake and pullies dyno anywhere close to 261 wheel hp and 241 torque?

261hp/241tq is close to the power a Supercharged CL-S puts to the ground.
Im not comparing specs from magazines, just dyno numbers. If we were to compare HP in your supposedly 260hp then the TL-s would have 300 hp.

Anyway I did post a disclaimer about the race so don’t shat your pants. I did miss quote one thing so I apologize; it was a 6 speed not an auto.

14.8 .19s or not those are numbers like a stock CL-S AT, which is my point, these are great numbers just for comparison.

Who will win in a ¼ mile run? We can talk all day about new hp standards, weight difference, wheels, but what it comes down to is what car will have win on a ¼ mile.

All were saying is it’s a damb good race.

07TL-S VS. 03CL-S6 Stock or CL-S AT

So you never answered do you live near San Diego?

Are you saying the TL-S dyno's at 261hp/241tq stock?
More like 241hp/221tq.
If I'm wrong please let me know cause thats only a 25hp loss to the ground.

Don't buy one if you're looking for a drag car - but it's probably the most fun thing I've ever driven on a regular basis.

I prefer the AP1 over the AP2 (2003 was the last AP1)
Higher redline, lighter weight.

Hard to get any more ponies out of them - and parts are expensive.
Clutch is a must. - Motor must be dropped to change it though.

I'm 6'2''/250. It's snug. If you're taller than that - go sit in one first.

Great cars - and won't kill the bank. I bought mine used in 05 for $17 - think I owe like 8 on it now or something - with only 52k on the clock...
