CL-S vs Which domestic vehicle??

Ok, I believe this coming weekend it is imports vs domestic at Englishtown and if I had the opportunity I might head down there. So if I was to run, who would I race against?? Grand Prix GT, Monte Carlo SS, etc....or with the big boys Camaro Z28, Trans Am......... V8??? With my mods where do I stand??

You should be able to run low 14's. They will probably put you up against Grand Prix's, V6 F-body, Mustang V6/GT, etc.

Have fun.

The last time I ran an Import vs Domestic @ Etown, I think I faced an import each time. However, I think they bracket it like: 15sec+, 14.00-14.99 and 13.99sec-faster. I dont think they'll run any heads-up comp (exc grudge races) once the time trials are over. Judging by your mods, you'll be running low-mid 14s so you'd probably face off against cars like the GTP, Impala SS and the occassional Taurus SHO. You'll probably find this bracket to be MUCH heavier with imports than domestic.

If they opt for class bracket racing, this would place you in the NA-6cylinder category (i.e.: Monte Carlo SS-pre 04, Nissan Maxima, Accord V6, 1G/2G Taurus SHO, Mustang V6, M3, VR6, 350Z, etc,...) But it's very unlikely they'll do it for this event, even though they do it for select import events. That said, no domestic NA V6 comes CLOSE to the TLS/CLS or any VQ35DE Nissan in terms of performance. So it'd be anticlimatic at best.

Just set your mind on bracket racing and be consistent.

BTW, there's probably a better chance of you racing headsup against the domestic big dogs on a Friday Street Night. I ran my Maxima 3 weeks ago on Friday night and had fun stomping on a 5.slow. (not a surprise)

Let us know how you do. Good luck!

Peace.

As far as Camaros go if it has the LS1 engine you have no chance. A race against a LT1 would be closer but it still might pull high 13's or low 14's. Good luck.
