Anyone ever race one of these trucks??? 250 hp and 345 tq!!!! fucking monster!!! a good freind of mine with a stock GTP gets TOASTED by that truck...guess a CL-S wouldnt have a chance...

 

That 5.9 probably has lots of mods. I've driven one they arent that quick.

 

that car has over 100 more ft lbs of torque than us!!!!! i think the guy has a mopar CAI on it..thats all...and that cant make THAT much of a difference....if that thing blows the doors off of a 99 GTP a CL-S would be LUCKY to hang with it.

 

If he's stock, it would be a good race until about 50 then you would pull. On the highway you will dust it.

What do you know, on the way to the gym i ran into a dakota rt at a light, BTW i was in a DTS, i launched pretty good w no squeeling and he kept up till 20 or 25 then i pulled on him badly and shut down @ around 60 cause i was on a street thats always flooded w/ 50. I had three passengers and he was alone. So i am assuming a Cl-S would smoke an 5.9 rt. You gotta know how to race man. I have perfected launching the DTS. LOL

 

I don't know why my post didn't show up from the other day, but I have definite data on these trucks.

Last time I was at the track two 5.9's ran eachother all night with their gates down for aerodynamics. Neither of them broke 15.7 all night and they ran exactly the same numbers and dead even all night.

 

I got the 5.9 in my Jeep Grand Cherokee (250 HP 345 Torque) It moves real nice. Tons of torque 6.8 0-60 Add an F.I.P.K. gives claimed 28 HP but is more like 20 HP (the 6 cyl J.G.C. has same restrictive intake as 5.2 V8 and 5.9 V8)
Add a MOPAR ECU and get added 29 HP. So 2 mods = about 300 HP. People take them to the track and run mid to low mid 14's with this setup.
Not bad for an SUV
I've taken some unsuspecting people and surprised them. Especialy some guy in a New Jaguar XK8 not too long ago. He thougt he was bad ass, but you should have seen his face at the next stoplightwhen he arrived there after me.

is it possible to supercharge the 5.9's? that would be a very very fast with AWD

 

Yeah there are a couple of guys who slapped on a supercharger to thier 5.9 limited Grand Cherokees I don't remember what kind of times they were getting in the 1/4 mile though.

 

actually having the gate down reduces aerodynamicy, a friend of mine did a test on an s10 in a wind tunnel in a college lab and having the gate down was the worst way to go, but i guess its whatever you think will make it faster

 

ok, so if a 5.9 RT dakota has the FIPK, can it beat a CL-S with a CAI????

 

is the grand cherokee 5.9 an awd setup or is it rwd/part-time 4wd?

XK8's are slow as dogs. XKR's is a whole nother story.

 

dude if someone said these Dakota R/Ts are running high 15s (like 15.7-15.8)they don't have a prayer in hell against a CL-S( we can run lower 15s pretty easy with no mods) I'd go up to him and race him. yeah he might get you out of the hole but once that v-tec kicks in IT'S ALL OVER
